I just bought solid gold 1-2 weeks ago, unfortunately, my dogs didn't like it, so, tried dick van pattens dog food today, they didn't like it, so picked up some Natural Dog Treats : : Healthy Dog Treats For Your Dog's Well Being : : DOGSWELL and they really liked it. the pieces are a little bigger, but, the main thing is the dogs went crazy over it. They said on their website, they're ranked 101 out of 5000 companies, so, went to find top dog food companies, and was really surprised by the results

One thing to consider here, the site that's linked to is "crowd sourced" (says so right in the title) which means people opinions, it's not news - it doesn't even have to be fact.

So, regardless of what one this list think about that. It's quite possible that his news has been assembled by an advertising/marketing company from some kind of pet food consortium. The individual write-ups for each company sure sound like an advertisement more than news about the companies.

Interesting- Dog Food

There was a segment on our local news just now, it said you can go in to any grocery store, and as long as the dog food says AFCCO on it, that it's just as good as the organic and every other kind of food out there. He said that people are just wasting their money on all this expensive food. Guess that's why all of our dogs always lived long healthy lives on purina

The thing is, think about it. Years ago, that's all they had to feed our dogs. Our dogs(small ones lived to be 15-19 years), big dogs 12-15 years. Now, I just wonder who started all of this on this food and that food is bad? It's from what people have been told. So, As soon as mine are closer to being out of their food, I'm going back to purina or pedigree, will look for the AFCCO, then will decide on a food and stick with it

Purina is AFCCO. Think I will check in to purina one or purina pro plan. They've got to be less expensive than what I've been buying. I just have a problem with this whole dog food thing. I want to know who started all of this, "purina is bad", pedigree is bad", etc. I think someone is trying to sucker everyone, and I'm not going to be suckered anymore. Been around too many years for that.

now you should try your own advice. READ your posts.

if you have a question about food. ask a question instead of starting threads with misleading headings such as "top 10 dog food companies". it is quit misleading for people who are researching to find quality food for their pet.

You're RIGHT, I started that thread wondering(the OLD thread), this one was because, after that thread, I put my dogs on a SO called good food(solid gold). They DON'T LIKE IT!. So, back to doing more studying, well, this time, I found one that I thought was good, so, did more studying again. I don't think you are able to keep up with what is going on, so, please don't feel you have to respond. This is a question for other people, things I'm wondering about. I give up. This is what I meant on read? Read this post over...I was trying to find a good food, I believe this food is good, I am staying on it!

This is the problem with this thread. I think people are assuming(and you know what they say about that word), that this was in response to my last thread(or certain people do anyway), and it's not. The last thread was completely different. I have tried keeping mine on good food, but, wanted to see where this company(dogswell) fit in and it said 101 out of 5000, so, was trying to do a search to see which ones were considered better than this dogswell. Then I started this thread more out of curiosity, as when I saw the 10 most popular, it about floored me.Oh well, I'm not saying anything else about food, too many "know" everything, so, will just keep my mouth shut and keep mine on whatever they do good on

IMO. I would not feed dogswell only because their treats are made in china and they import the ingredients from china for the food too.

i have respect for elders. BUT i do not respect people merely because they are older.

everyone gets old. even the 'young kids' that you are displeased with! as well as meagan! (sorry meagan, for dragging you into this...i don't even know who you are!)

respect is earned

all that is required to be old is the passing of time. EVERYONE will be old one day...and certainly not everyone should be respected.

i had an 'elder' person who once told me, when i asked him about "passive aggressiveness" and he told me that it is poison and not to put up with it.

I am sorry that your dogs did not like the food you got them, i have a very picky dog myself, so i understand how frustrating it is to have picky eaters and i am glad that you are trying to find a food that will work for them.

i just feel that you are arguing with people a lot on your thread. and this has already happened once in your other thread.

i am not going to read this entire thread. i do not always read the entire thread every single time i respond to a thread. (you said to READ! and said that you meant for me to read the entire thread.) well, that is silly, most people do not have time to read all these threads from beginning to end. everyone just try to chip in and help where they can.

a suggestion for you though. is that when you do research, be careful what you are reading. you seem to have a lot of bad unreliable information in both threads. i hope you are more careful and watch out for the sources of the information. don't believe everything you read. and don't misinterpret things you read either.

Could you ( or anyone really ) tell me how to find what brands import meats from China . I have been researching foods but I can never find anything on the companies websites about where they source their ingredients. How do you find out if the source from Chins or use chemicals in the fish ?

I know the treats are made in china because it is on the package..you really have to read the fine prints. And i also called the company before to see where they get some of the ingredients and they said some of the supplements they use are from china...
