| Fattening Needed Hi Guys, I really need ur help I feel like such an inept. I've had dogs 4 ever but, of course never a yorkie. My baby Juicee is 15weeks old and weighs in at 1 lbs 5 oz. I am trying to beef her up, as she was originally supposed to be 3.5-4 lbs. I wasn't looking for such as small baby but, that whole 1lbs 5 oz is what she ended up weighing. I have tried everything to make her gain weight. Nutrical (lots of it) Stage 1 baby food , Mighty dog, royal canine kibble for mini. ground up royal canine for mini ( 1 kibble seems to take her alot to chew). Anyway let's see oh yes and finally today Cesar filet mignon, I even switched bowls and bought her a flat little plate for easier nibbling. I feel like she doesn't eat enough. Is there any special recipe u guys can suggest? I don't want to get her used to eating human food, and she needs to get over the fear of the kibble. hellp I want her to be as healthy as possible. P.S> I free feed her also |

| Mine are picky eaters too. They'll only eat if I'm in the same room as them.

| When I started feeding mine NV Raw they both gained weight. So much so we needed to cut back how much they ate. May be try that it worked for my babies |

| The product is Natures Variety. They have frozen raw food, canned and kibble and grain free kibble. I love the raw medallions for Myah. It is the only food she will eat with out being fussy. I got mine at a privately owned pet store. They do have a website and you can do a search to find places in your area that may sell it. |

| What does your vet say about her weight? Does he think she is underweight? She is genetically programed to be a certain weight. You can't change that by feeding her more just like you can't keep a large puppy within the standard by starving him. If she is healthy and at a good weight, I wouldn't worry. If your vet feels she is too thin, she needs to have a bile acids test when she is a little older (about 20 weeks). Liver shunts are 36 times more common in Yorkies than all other breeds combined and poor weight gain is a symptom. |

| First of all, and please don't take this the wrong way, but you NEED to STOP switching foods all the time. I know it's frustrating when they don't eat, but it sounds like she is eating, just not as much as you would like. Changing foods all is definitely not good for their systems. Pick one brand, purchase the kibble and canned and stick with it. If you want her to eat kibble, you can soak it in warm water for a bit to soften it up. Or there is nothing wrong with adding a bit of canned to the kibble 2x a day to entice her a bit more. It sounds like she is fine and you are just worrying I would get a bile acid test done on her when she's about 6 months old to rule out any liver problems. This should be done on all yorkies anyways. Ryder was 20 ounces from eleven weeks old to fifteen weeks old. He is now a healthy "think heavy" three pounds (really 2.8 but we like to tease him ) at a year and a half. Oh, and as an FYI- Nutrical can seriously supress the appetite if given too much/too frequently. Good luck!
