Eating poop... Can i give pineapple?

Yeah that would drive me nuts, sure takes the fun out of those Yorkie kisses, lots of people have had success with the pineapple, let us know if it helps, and good luck!

My lil guy Trooper is a big poop eater. I've tried almost everything... Going out with him and telling him no, picking it up right away, the tablets, and I don't think the banana thing works cause he gets banana everyday, sometimes 2x a day and he's still doing it! My vet told me to try Certs, the breath candy, but that too was unsuccesful...
I love my little guy and miss those Yorkie kisses, but I refuse until I know for sure that he's stopped. I'm going to give the pineapple a try. I'm just confused as to how much I should give him each day or with each meal. Any recommendations?

I just noticed this thread... I just started one... "Pineapple WORKS" I bought a fresh one on the w/e, and have given the dogs each a tidbit or 2 each day, and 1 is still sniffing the poops, but not chowing, and the other one hasn't looked back! I only had 2 poop eaters, out of 7 Yorkies, but this is not exclusive to Yorkies,my GSD does it often too, but not now!

I used pineapple for mine as well, It works ,but you must give it to all dogs in the house.

My little girl, Snickers, is eating our other dog, Dusty's (female Schnauzer) poop. We have had Dusty longer than we've had Snickers.. could this be an alpha dog thing? and should I try pineapple in both of their food or just Dusty's food so that Snickers doesn't eat Dusty's poop?

I don't think it's an alpha dog thing, dogs noses smell differently than human noses and they are 1000 times more powerful. They smell each ingredient in the poop, not a "blend" like we smell, so they can smell undigested protein, and that's why they want to eat it. So try putting pineapple in Dusty's poop. The pineapple has an ingredient that helps to digest the protein. If that doesn’t work, I’d think about changing Dusty’s food.

Instead, I would recommend trying Solid Gold's S.E.P. (Stop Eating Poop) - it usually works right away.
