| I need some encouragement...I am worried sick... I have been crying my eyes out off and on for the last few days...my little DeDe is scheduled for her spay on Monday morning. It's a long story but she was a sick puppy...she was one of Chloe's (my sister's yorkie) puppies. She had some sort of virus that ran through her and she almost died. They ran every test in the world but everything came back normal. I got so attached to her that I ended up just keeping her as my baby. She is always right with me wherever I go...she looks up at me with those big brown eyes and I know that she trusts me to take care of her. I was dreading this moment since she was a puppy...she is 2 1/2 lbs at 6 months and she just had a recheck of all her levels with a full blood panel...everything came back normal and my vet...who is very intelligent and knowledgable...and has been doing this a long time...said that there is no medical reason why she shouldn't be ok to be spayed. They do a lot of work with small animals, they are known for being really good with mice, ferrets, etc. and he said that he spays mice and sugar gliders all the time...so if they can pop right back out of it a 2 1/2 lb yorkie will be just fine. He is an excellent vet and I trust him completely, but I just keep having this vision of never being able to see her again and here I am crying all over...I've been trying to think about other things but I can't get it out of my head. Now it's only 1 day away and I get more and more nervous. I get so close to cancelling the whole thing but I know this is the best for her. She is so little and I have intact males in the house...I just can't take that chance. She is my baby...I am so attached to all my monkeys but DeDe and I just got stuck together at the hip when I almost lost her as a baby. I hand feed her every day still and carry her around with me wherever I go...sigh...I got her Christmas presents already and I just keep thinking that what if I'm never able to give them to her.... I know I"m probably just being super paranoid...my vet said he does this all the time and he can't remember the last time they lost an animal under anesthesia. The kind they use is the safest kind and he said they have them hooked into all kinds of machines that monitor their vitals...and they can bring them right back out if anything happens. She has to be spayed and get about 4 or 5 of her babies pulled that are already loose. My vet knew how worried I was so he squeezed her in on Monday so we could get it over with as soon as possible. Also, my sister is letting DeDe's mommy get spayed with her at the same time so they can be together. He's going to do both of them one right after the other. Am I making the right decision? Am I being too dramatic and paranoid? In some ways I feel like I am, and in others I just can't stop thinking about losing my little munchkin. Ohhh this is going to be sooo hard... Thank you for letting me get all that out... |

| AAAWWWWW, I know how hard it is to hand a beloved baby over to the "nurse" and have to walk away. When I left Gracie for her spay a couple of weeks ago, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers |

| She is a doll It is very nerve wracking for us when these little furballs are spayed or neutered, but I am sure that she will be fine. It sounds like you have a wonderful vet. Will keep you both in my thoughts and look forward to hearing that she is back home with you on Monday night.

| Max just had his neuter 2 weeks ago Monday. I was just like you are now. He was a sickly boy when we brought him home and they thought he might have or still have auto immune issues. I waited until he was 9 months to get him neutered. Even now his incission got infected and I am treating him with meds. I know how you are feeling. Make sure the vet knows how you feel and have a vet tech or receptionist call and update you when she goes into surgery, comes out, has recovered, ... I did and I felt better knowing what was going on and when. Max and I are sending you big hugs!

| Hon, I know where you're coming from. My new biewer is very tiny, she will be 6 mos tomorrow, and barely 2 lbs. I had spoken to the breeder, and she wanted me to wait until mine hit a year old or older before spaying, which is hard on me, as I've always had them spayed between 5 1/2 and 6 mos. I'm sure she will be fine, sounds like the vets are really good. Will say a prayer for your baby..You'll be updating us tomorrow telling us she came through it with flying colors! |

| Thank you everyone for your warm words...I really appreciate it and all of your thoughts and prayers. I keep trying to tell myself that she will be ok, she has had all the bloodwork so there should be no surprises...but I am still just scared to death for her. I don't know what I would do if I lost her! At least she will have her mommy with her...maybe that will make her feel better, but I know she is going to be so upset when I walk away from her. I don't know how I'm going to do it... And Linda, DeDe needs some warm clothes for the winter and she only has a few things that are hers, most of it is hand-me-downs. I'm sure you are probably busy with Christmas now but maybe after the holidays you can make a little warm wardrobe for DeDe...she is jealous of all the pretty clothes the others have! |

| Linda, you have some adorable clothes. I know I've been buying off e-bay, but, have problems with some of the outfits, as this little girl I have is tiny. I just did get her an xxxs dress the other day that finally fit, the xxs I bought was way too big. I'll have to save up some more money(after Christmas) and then I can order some things |

| I have a male yorkie, but I understand. I have the same anxiety with vaccinations and teeth cleaning. Your vet sounds wonderful. I'm sure she will be just fine. Don't worry. She will be in good hands. Prince's mom |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I will keep DeDe in my prayers and you too. I know how scared you are, I am the same way when it comes time to get one of mine spayed. It sounds like your vet is well prepared to handle your little one. Make sure they call you as soon as she is out of surgery so you can breathe easier.
