spitting up my 6 month old yorkie spits up a lot. never food, just usually clear liquid. sometimes if she gets something she shouldn't, like tissues or lint or pieces of leaves she spits that up. she doesn't spit up as much as she did at first. my vet doesn't want to spay her until he finds out why she spits up. her stomach gurgles and she sounds like she has hiccups then spits. sometimes she sounds like she threw up but there is nothing there. does anyone else have this problem. what could cause it? i'm afraid the tests will cost a lot but i don't want her under anesthesia if there could be a problem. she weights between 5 and 6 pounds and is healthy and eats good. i feed her science diet puppy food from a can and split it into 4 feedings a day. when she was 2 months old she got pneumonia from spitting up and breathing it in but she has been healthy ever since. does anyone have any answers? i've always had dogs but this is my first yorkie.

You may want to try grain free food. You may want to split her food up into 6 meals. Here is a site that is great for looking up dog food. Dog Food Reviews - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost Dogs don't digest grain well and some less than others. That may be the problem.

it sounds like her stomach is empty. Layla throws up bile (just a yellow liquid) if her stomach is empty and i know when she is going to do it because her tummy is SO noisy. She eats many small meals througout the day and has snacks- usually fat free pro biotic yogurt. Try and keep her tummy full.
