				   | Ichabob was a diabetic for 3 yrs, we went every week for awhile to have his blood drawn and they always did front legs, unless they could not get blood there, then they went to the neck, after awhile we went just once a month and they always did the front leg. |

				   | My vet has always taken blood from the hind legs of my dogs, once he took blood from Charlies Jugular when he was sick with the flu, he had gotten dehydrated and his veins in his legs were hard to find since he was dehydrated but that was the only time my vet took blood from one of my dogs jugular even though Charlie stood still and didn't jerk i was still worried about it and wouldn't want him to do it again. |

				   | With my girls, it is always jugular because their legs are so skinny. I hate it has to be this way!!!

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Marcel's has always been drawn from the jugular, it's pretty common. It's probably more common with smaller dogs, and smaller yorkies too. Wylie's has been leg or jugular.

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | its easiest to take blood from the jugular. This was we get the blood faster and don't have to worry about the vein collapsing. we never take it from a front leg incase we need it for catheters. the back leg is used if we can't find the jug or if they are way to fidgety to restrain them in the proper position.

Lol, I'd say Ellie qualifies for a back leg draw then.
