| Question about spaying after care Hi, I had my baby spayed on Thursday and the vet office told me no steps or jumping for 14 days. I can see no jumping but 14 days is a long time for steps I thought. I was wondering what anyone else has been told. Thanks! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie was spayed 2 1/2 weeks ago and they said no jumping for 2 weeks and the first few days she was calm but after that she was playing with the others. I just tried to not let her overdue it. I only have one step to the outside and she was fine going up that. I just kept an eye on her incision.

| My vet said no jumping or running/strenuous activity for 14 days. I have 2 flights of stairs from my main level to the bedroom, and doggy steps for the sofa and bed. Both girls tolerated stairs immediately and without any problems. The vet put no limits on stairs. After 2-3 days, it was like nothing had happened as far as they were concerned.

| Same here, my vet said no strenous activity (jumping, going up/down stairs, running, etc.) for 2 weeks. The first week, I kept her on my lap most of the time and pretty much took all her toys away so that she wouldn't try to play fetch. I've also had to stop taking her for walks b/c everytime we walked past someone she started to jump around. By the 2nd week, she was allowed to run around the house, but still no jumping and stairs.

| Spaying Tomorrow Hello Everyone, My Zoey Belle goes in for her spaying tomorrow morning. I makes me kind of nervous, but I know it is one of the best things I can do for her. She's at the groomer getting pretty today, since I won't be able to bathe her for a couple weeks. She shows virtually no signs that she was sick with that pneumonia a couple weeks ago, but I am still kind of nervous about her surgery tomorrow, since she had been sick. She turned six months old last Wednesday, so I know its time for her to be spayed. She might also need some baby teeth pulled. I just wanted to let everyone know how she is doing and to ask for your prayers with tomorrow's surgery. Any suggestions and information for post-op care are welcome. I read in some of the threads about getting a pack of baby onesie's for her to keep her form licking and messing with the incision, so I will probably do that tonight. I bought her a new bed for her play pen, so she will have something nice and new to sleep on since she will be resting so much. Thanks! Zoey Belle's mom |

| Spaying Zoey had her spaying done Friday and four baby teeth removed, and I think she is doing well. Saturday, she seemed to feel really good, but today, she seems tired, maybe she got too active yesterday. And, I think she may be constipated. Is the constipation normal? What could i give her to help with the constipation? I am also going to call the vet tomorrow morning about it. |

| Hey My Tessie was spayed on Friday, she had some bleeding when I went to pick her up so she had to stay overnight. My vet stayed there with her. She came home with a belly bandage. He also said no jumping or stairs for 14 days but it has been very hard to keep her from doing this. Sunday she started running around and playing like normal. She has also been constipated probably from the medicine. She has pain meds but no antibiotic. We also had our 5 1/2 month old male spayed but he came home and acted like nothing happend. I think this is one of the reasons Tessie has the bandage so they can't bother her stitches. She gets the bandage off on Wednesday so hopefully she won't mess with the stitches. I have heard about the onesies but then she can't go potty.
