| Holy Hayfever! Poor Otis! Have Mercy! Otis is soooo itchy. We went to a new vet today and he gave me hydroxyzine 10 mg, 2-3 times a day. Every part of his body is red, hot and itchy. Only started about 10 days ago and he had the same thing last year at this time! The meds should start working in a few days. Any tips from doggie hay fever veterens out there? He also suggested maybe I change the protein in his food. He's currently on Wellness Duck and brown rice. Also Oliver got cleanser, rinse and meds for his yeasty tear stains. New vet is about 25 minute drive out in the country but seems very nice. (and is kinda cute too). All that for only 50.00. (except Otis's script for hydroxyzine). The vets in my town want 38.00 just for the office call, per dog! So who has tips for hayfever!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Dang, maybe you can marry this dude and get even better prices ! Well, you could try a fish kibble - Wellness Core Ocean is excellent! It may be worth a try to get him off of a "meat" protein. Is he allergic to grass? If so, I wonder if it'd help to spray his paws with Chris Christensen's Peace and Kindness (geeze, any parts of his body that are irritated too).

| yeah!! I tried to google to see if he was married. He wasn't wearing a ring but that doesn't always matter!!! I'm on a serious husband hunt!! He suggested a fish protein also! I'll try anything that helps my boys. I just hope they like it, Otis is a picky eater. Wonder if his breath will smell!!?! Thanks Ann, I always welcome your wealth of nutrition wisdom!

I know when my guys were on a fish kibble (Orijen), they LOVED it - just hot for it, and I don't remember any fishy smell at all. Maybe others have tried it too. Now let's find out if there is a MRS. VET, yet!!!

| I bought some wellness, whitefish and sweet potatoe today! Hopefully that, combined with the hydroxyzine will help my Otie. He's not yet miserable, but I hate that he's itchy at all and has to be on meds.
