| Wellness Puppy Food vs Orijen Puppy Food - Weight Gain? I'm thinking about switching Darwin over from Wellness to Orijen b/c it's a grain free food, and he's been scratching a lot. My only concern is the high protein content of Orijen, and additional calories. Orijen Puppy is 42% protein, and 4550 kcal/kg and I believe Wellness only has 3800 kcal/kg. Will my pups gain weight from this type of food switch? He is 7 months, and eats only about 1/3 cup of wellness total per day, would I need to adjust the kibble down to 1/4 cup? How do you manage the food when it's higher in protein and calories? I don't want him to be overweight... |
