| Itchin" You may want to try Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier for puppies, very small kibble, and Gracie and Boodah love it (unfortunately so do the cats ). It is expensive...........but worth every penny. Gracie's coat has improved, her stools are smaller, the kibble is just the right size and is yummy to every critter..........I have to chase the cats away |

| I had the same itching problem with my 4 mth old. Once food, allergies, fleas, etc were ruled out - my Vet said Maddie most like just has dry skin and to put a few drops of Flax seed oil on her food. She's stopped the itching and her skin and coat look wonderful. She hasn't had any problems with the flax seed oil either. Good Luck!

| Hi I'm new to the boards so I hope you guys can bare with me. My yorkie is almost 3 months old and he scratches too but not profusely. He scratches a bit from time to time and I don't think it's becuase he is trying to get rid of the collar. When you guys say that your puppies scratch, is it constantly through out the day? Or is it for a sustained period of time a few times a day? I took him to the vet when I got him a week ago and the vet said he was flea and tic free so I'm thinking perhaps food allergies or it is just natural for them to scratch a bit? I currently have him on Royal Canin mini puppy food. I noticed the 3rd ingredient or so is corn meal gluten or something like that? I've read that it may cause skin irritation but he's been scratching even before I fed him that. my other cairn terrier puppy is on nutro ultra and he doesn't scratch much at all. Also, I've read that the Innova brand might be too rich for smaller dogs and some dogs can't get used to it? Sorry for the long post! And thanks in advance for any responses I get |

I read the ingredients of the treat I was giving Gucci and the first in corn. SO im no getting that treat to her anymore. Anyone knows of a good and healthy treats? | |

| Thanks for the advice. He wouldn't really eat the Nutro Ultra the cairn eats even when I mixed in wet food. It appears to be though that quite a few people have picky little doggies. I'm thinking of switching him to Blue Buffalo? And from reading the above posts, I think I better go with the lamb formula since chicken may cause allergies. I'll check with the vet again also. Thanks a lot for response! |

| Sunshine is way less itchy since I started using the Chris Christensen products. I just got home from Pet Supermarket and bought her Nutro Ultra for puppies. I couldn't remember which Nutro to buy. They also have Nutro Max and Nutro Natural Choice. Anyways, when I got home after being gone all day, her Eukanuba looked untouched. I called her over to her dish and she just looked at it and walked away. I gave her a little Nutro mixed in and called her over. She started to smell it. I gave her one Nutro piece and she loved it. She smelled her dish and started eating the Nutro.

| Ok -- well, the Innova has been tested with a 14 week old yorkie and he is not having ANY problems with it! I currently have Sebastian, my oldest daughter's yorkie, at my house until I'm able to get him to his new home. I tried my best to keep Carter and Cooper out of the Science Diet that Sebastian's breeder provided for Sebastian and tried to keep Sebastian out of Carter and Cooper's Innova. Guess what . . . I had absolutely no luck doing that today. Sebastian (5/3/05 birthdate) was able to eat the Innova with no problems whatsoever. He refused to eat from his bowl of Science Diet. He was only interested in the Innova. While the Innova is a larger sized kibble, even in the puppy food, it doesn't appear that puppies will have problems with chewing it up. Lisa

| The innova looked big. I'm glad to hear it works well with your puppy. I couldn't find innova near me. Well, I just didn't want to have to make a special trip out of the way, so I'm using Nutro Ultra because they sell it at Pet Supermarket which is next to my grocery store. Also, it is smaller. Innova sounds like a great healthy food, though.

| CC products I noticed the mention of Chris Christensen products. Which product within that line are you guys trying on your yorkies? I'm looking for a new shampoo for my dog. He has dry skin to begin with and now his skin is getting drier than normal. Several colleagues mentioned that I am bathing him too much, which i will cut back now. He is currently eating the Nutro Ultra. I noticed the mention of yorkies having chicken allergies so maybe I will need to switch his dog food also, and cut out :Puppy: the chicken jerky(that he loves so much). :Puppy: |
