| Yes I got it, it was under his arm. I felt something and pulled it out!! I put some peroxide on cotton swab and rubbed the area I guess Advantix isn't effective

| Oh no.... I just found one a Benji a little while ago. Now he has a little red spot with a small white spot. I know I got it though because it was still moving and it was on a napkin. But now I am freaking out!!!

| I would call your vet in the AM. To see what you should do, ticks carry diseases. Best of luck

| I use Frontline Plus and Lexie (who is the one of my three who RARELY goes outside) has had 3 ticks!!! We got them off of her quickly and she healed fine. My vet said it's an awful year for ticks and there's not much else we can do but use the Frontline and pull them out as soon as we find them and check our dogs over every time we come inside. I'm just confused because my other yorkie and our golden haven't had one! I've also found 2 fleas on my yorkies but no more... I've searched and searched with a flea comb and given a bath in Dawn, but only 2. That's a good thing. The vet said they probably picked up a couple from the groomer. Good luck to everyone with this year's tick problem!

| I just wanted to post that the vet told me that advatix doesnt work on ticks....only Frontline prevents them....even though I see from Kimluvslexie that it doesnt work all the time. Thats just what I was told....not sure if you knew or not.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I also found three on Max, two on sat, and one yesterday, I bought pesticide for the back yard (Ortho, something MAX) a spray for around the house and another for the inside, I've been doing laundry with hot water, washing our sheets and blankets, pillows from the sofa, my comforter, my shams, I picked up the rugs, washed them and stuck them in a plastic bags, I gave Max a bath, one Sat one yesterday, with the flea /tick shampoo, i read on line that Rosemary oil i a good repellent, so I put a few drops in his shampoo. Our last doses of Frontline was used last month, so I need to get them from our vet.

| I've always heard you should take something hot...like the end of a match, light it, blow it out and then immediately put it on the tick. This will make the tick back out, then you can pull it out without leaving any behind. Sometimes it you just pull on them, part will remain and then you can get infections or other problems. Tick's can carry diseases so I would check on that.

I thought about keeping him inside, but he needs to walk in order to do #2, so I've been putting some Rosemary oil on his legs, and stomach before heading out the door, and once we get back, wipe him with a damp towel and start to check him, poor baby, I'm driving crazy, but it 'is the only way to get this under control.
