				   | ![]() That is the brand they use at their vet office for fleas and ticks. What do you like to use if you do not use K9 Advantix? Thanks

				   | I've tried both Advantix and Frontline plus. Advantix seems not to work as long. My vet said it was okay to use it more often than what was recommended, but of course then it gets more expensive. |

				   | We have cats so we were told we could not use the K9 Advantix because if you pet the dog then touch your cat, or if they place together, it can be harmful to the cat. We used Frontline Plus for the dogs and Frontline for the cats, when fleas were an issue, and it worked wonderfully.

				   | We used to use K9 Advantix on Kimchee. We used it on him for about 2 summers. He was fine only with the very first time; he acted a bit weird, may be a bit of reaction but he was fine afterwards. We stopped using the topical (only use Sentinel all year round) and we shifted to use natural oil such as tea tree oil, neem oil, etc when bathing.

				   | Please do a search on here about K9 Advantix. One of the ingredients -- I think it's Permethian (sp?) that has cause a bunch of problems with the dogs it is used on... some have died from it. I use Revolution... |

				   | I tried Advantix and I thought it was working...until my dog came home from a play date with fleas. Scooter always ran after I used it to the nearest carpet and rolled around as soon as I released him. As it turns out, according to my vet, the external application of flea and tick meds is way less effective than pills. The vet encouraged me to quit using Advantix and use Comfortis and Sentinal. She also said to stop using Heartgard because the pills would cover that as well. Scooter is not a big fan of pills but did great once I split them in half (they are already really small). I haven't had a problem since and I won't be switching back. With the pills, I only give them once a month so it is easy for me and him. If you choose to use Advantix or Frontline, just be sure that you get a full application and are very careful about the possible rub-off. Since I started Scooter on Comfortis and Sentinal, no more issues with fleas. |

				   | my vet recommended Advantix to me, but i'm going back today to ask for Frontline or Revolution. I've been finding a lot of ticks on Mayme, and she is barely in the grass! She'll only touch the grass to pooty - (and that's only occasionally...she prefers to go on the concrete. ha! ) I've been using Advantix on her for about 3 months now, and I've had enough! |

| Donating YT Addict | I use Advantix. I don't know about all of them but the ticks will go on them but not attach and then crawl off them and die. The same with fleas. The medication stops them from biting and then causes them to die but you may still find one crawling around. I think this is the same for all the topical. I chose not to give oral meds, I'm more uncomfortable with that then the topical. If given a choice I would use nothing but we have tons of ticks so I had to make a choice. He has never reacted to the Advantix but I only use half the amount as he is only 3lbs 12oz. Good luck!
