Just administered FrontLine Plus....need help! - Page 2 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Alfie was the same with Frontline.....

he runs around like mad trying to get it off and then he seems to stare into space and is just not himself.

I took him to the vet but he said it does not go into their system and he had never heard of anyone else having this type of reaction!!!
I dont know what to do either as I worry if it does build up in their sytem although the vet said that was impossible!!!

This is exactly the way Bella is acting. She acts like she is scared, she would run suddenly like she was trying to find a spot to get comfortable and it was like she was hovering. Now she just wants to be held or near me at all times.

Poor little baby. I'm sorry, but I hate that stuff with a purple passion. The chemicals we are all injesting in one form or another is killing us. After what Frontline did to Mandy I will NEVER use any of that crap again. Her back leg was dragging, foot turned under in less than an hr. after we put it on her. Vet said, must be something neurological. Well, duh!!! I guess so. I just try to keep them inside and bathe, bathe, bathe. I use a natural organic spray with oatmeal in it too and it stops the itchies . Hope that baby will be okay. Alot of people use these products sooooo I'm just saying this is my opinion.

flea and tick meds go to the second layer of skin if I can remember what a friend told me who worked at a vet's for years...I hate that you should apply the whole thing to a little dog when it says it's good up to 25lbs...Surely someone could make smaller doses for our little ones !!!!!

It is really strange. The weird thing is that I skipped giving to Bella in May. Instead, I was trying bathing her in Dawn "if" she had any fleas. I hated giving her flea meds, but when she was getting so itchy again, I went ahead with the medication.

There are just too many cases I've now read here on YT. Why do our Vets (yours/mine) not know anything more?? It's frustrating.

I'm glad you mentioned the natural spray. Last wk, after I bathed her in Dawn, I used a product called "Earthbath" Tea Tree Oil Hot Spot & Itch Relief plus Skin & Coat Conditioner. I was about to post a new thread to ask if anyone had used it before when this all happened today w/Bella. I bathed her again on Sun just using oatmeal shampoo & didn't want to use Earthbath again until I knew more. I was afraid it could be causing more itching??

You know at the vets they are not going to say anything bad about Frontline, Advantage, or any of the others because they sell them. Just like the prescription dog food They get a kick back on Science Diet. I know everyone feels different about things but I am scared to death of this stuff. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that was what happened to Mandy's leg. She hasn't had a problem since.

yes

that's what I was thinking too. Look what a battle it was/is for the food recalls. No one took notice until tons of people came forward & pushed for the truth after alot of tragedy, unfortunantly.

She's been very itchy lately, biting, etc. She had gotten better, but lately having to give her Benadryl. Why would the FrontLine Plus do this now & not ever before? About to call the Vet. Anyone had experiences like this??

I need to give teddy childrens benadryl how much do you give your yorkie? Mine is 12.5lbs

She is 7 lbs & I give her 1/4 tablet. I tried the liquid, but she would sometimes gag, threw up/hated it. She's gotten so smart about the pills too. She didn't do well with the children's tablet. The Vet said adult benadryl was fine. I've tried pill pockets (she did that for a while), hiding in food, but she is funny to watch - will spit out everytime while digesting the food. So funny to watch, you will try numerous times, think she's swallowed, then.....out pops the pill

.....so peanut butter works well, just a dab of course, but she can't spit the pill out easily. lol. Good Luck with Teddy!

so half a pill would be good for him? He's great with taking pills.. he would take his pain meds plain.. without a treat or anything. but we have stuff we can put it in.. he doesn't get pick he just eats it I mean the dog tries to eat balls of carpet(our carpet in our apt is new so it sheds) he's not stupid just goofy.. and like a 2 year old lol

I think that would be fine. I sometimes give Bella 1/2 tablet if she is really bad. I did find this link:

I believe I've seen like all natural flea shampoos at pet smart. or organic ones of some sort. I could be wrong but I remember look at all their organic line. I haven't put anything on teddy in a month and he doesn't have one flea or anything on him.. just allergies.

I found this site that stuff is suppose to be all natural.. like flea shampoos and such.

i had no idead that this stuff was bad for small dogs. I used it on cats before with no problem. The vet gave me advantage especially for smaller lb. dogs. I had not used it because Suzi has not had fleas.
Has anyone heard of the other Advatage for smaller lb. dogs?
