all stages is fine.. and it's better that you get something in her.. even if its not specifically puppy food. i'd try canned.. dogs tend to enjoy that more than kibble and maybe you can just leave her kibble out or break it up and mix it in with the canned.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How old is she? Has she been to the vet recently? Like what Marci said, you really need to get something in her tummy - canned is good food bc it's less processed than dry AND has additional moisture. If she still doesn't eat, I'd get her to the vet asap. But, DON'T get Science Diet. Mainly, you want to go to the vet to be sure there is nothing wrong w/ her.

I, also, have a yorkie that would not eat. I spent the first weekend I had her at the emergency room with her because of this - she got hypoglycemic and they had to drip her to get her blood sugars up. She also happened to have coccidia and giardia. Have you checked yours for that? Anyway, I had to syringe feed her Gerber's chicken baby food for a couple of days, and then she started eating if off of my finger. I would barely heat it in the microwave. Anyway, she did great on this and gained over a pound! We supplemented with liquid vitamins from the vet. Mine was just a little over a pound when all of this happened and it is really worrisome, I know. Just this morning I've posted because she has some mucus in her stools that I now am worried about! The baby food might work. Give it a try - good luck!

Our Yorkie wouldn't eat when we brought him home. We figure that it was because he was sad leaving his litter mates, and he had giardia. After getting used to his surroundings and taking panacur for a week, he's had a healthy appetite. Good luck

When I got Mia, I was new. She was my first yorkie. We learned about hypoglycemia really fast. Woke up one morning and she was lifeless. I called the breeder and she told me to get honey down her throat and I did and she came right out of it. It scared me to death. Automatic attachment afterwards. I knew right then that these pups were different than what I had been used to (sheltie). I went directly to the vet and got Nutra-cal.. this is the most important thing right now. Then I started feeding her chiken baby food, just as Lolasmom did. she ate it off my fingers and then we put it down for her and she ate it up. We kept her on this for two months and then graduated to Gormet puppy food. She eats this now combined with puppy dri food. She loves to eat and has done so well. She is very heathly and spoiled rotten... Hope this helps you, and Good luck!!! Mia and Karen
