| Don't worry, he'll be fine. The vet told me that my Button had to rest, no jumping about etc till the stitches came out. He should have told Button! I managed to keep him fairly still for a day, by confining him to a crate where he howled the place down, then he was up & raring to go. I have 4 other dogs he was chasing around like a complete idiot, back to his usual self He came to no harm at all. The "Recovery Pack" the vets charged me £10 for was a complete waste of money....he turned his nose up at the food & was having nothing to do with the collar! He was doing himself more harm trying to get himself out of it! |

| Oh...Madison is getting his big "snip" on Tuesday! He's 2 yrs old though and I'm pretty sure he's NOT going to tolerate the collar, so I got him some "onesies"....I think it will be much better for him b/c he won't be able to lick, but he won't be running into the walls or anything with the collar. I had Max done when he was around the age of yours, and he did GREAT.....up and running around a day or so later! And I took his collar off too, and he never did lick the surgical area, so I didn't really have to worry about it. He was so miserable with the collar on, I only put it on the first night while we were in bed, just in case he might lick while I was sleeping. The next day.....it went into the trash! Good luck with your baby; I'm sure he'll do just fine.

| My Gus would not stop trying to lick, so I had to leave the collar on. He survived wearing it; it's not so bad! Best part is, he was humping everything in sight before that, and now he just isn't interested, even with the dogs he used to try to get to at the dog park. Now he just sniffs his former favorite ladies and runs off to play. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We had Captain neutered last Monday and he did great...he was 20 months at the time and we were afraid that since he was older that he would take longer to heal. But by Tuesday he was back to himself completely. He did try to lick his wound from time to time but I just distracted him and got him playing with something else. We were told to keep him quiet for three days but that didn't happen as he wanted to play...now a week later he is 100% and seems so much happier!!
