| For those of you whose yorkie(s) has allergies, what food do you feed them??? I currently have Hootie and Hobbs on Natural Balance Duck & Potato but am looking for other options. I was hoping to get a list of foods people feed their yorkies with allergies. Hobbs is allergic to corn, wheat, barley, rye, and chicken. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Do you mean food allergies or seasonal, or both? Marcel has some allergies to regular chicken - but can eat raw, organic chicken without a hitch. He also is having pollen issues this year. We feed Natures Variety Raw Frozen - and are food allergy free! Wylie is allergy free.

What do you do for treats on the raw diet?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | For treats, I give Bully Sticks, Canine Caviar Fish Stix, Carrots, Kongs, little pieces of cereal - and sometimes Denta Stix. Have you ever thought about NV Raw or is it not your thing? Otherwise, what about Wellness' Whitefish and Potato? I think Evangers makes a Trout mix too. And, Natures Variety makes a grain free kibble line called Instinct: NV

Unfortunately, the Wellness Whitefish has barley in it. And the protein content in Wellness's allergy formula foods is TOO low and the first ingredient in those foods is NOT a meat product. And I looked on Evanger's website and did not see a trout formula.

| I feel your pain! The only protein Ginger can have is trout and whitefish. I try to feed Pinnacle trout, but can't always get it in my area. So I've recently switched to Wellness. I'm NOT as happy with it because the #1 ingredient is a grain, but she seems to love it and so far is doing really well on it. Good luck in your search!

| I use Life's Abundance with all three of my yorkies. The kibble are small, they eat it well and since I free feed it causes no problems. The company is very fast to deliver and they have an automatic shipping plan. My Alyssa has severe skin allergies and Life's Abundance and Canidae are the only foods I can feed her without the itching.

| Franklin doesn't have allergies (that I know of) but does really well on California Natural, which is supposed to be great for allergies.

| I highly recommend the raw for animals with allergies. Lacy doesn't have allergies but has been eating raw for two years with great results. I do have an older cat that has had chronic allergies her whole life and no foods helped...she lost a lot of hair and was constantly itchy and had scabs from scratching. She did a little better when I tried the NV Instinct canned in rabbit but still itchy. I finally switched her to the NV raw rabbit and she has done AMAZING on it. Hardly ever scratches now and hair has completely grown back. She looks better than ever!! NV raw is grain-free and comes in several protein sources. You could try lamb, venison, or rabbit. Also, it has a lot of moisture so it is so much better for them than feeding kibble. My babies don't have to drink much at all since they eat raw. They get a lot of their water intake from their food. It's great!
