I am very weary of very high protein foods (like the Nature's Variety Raw Instinct dry food)......I put the yorkies on Orijen 6 Fresh Fix for a month and their water intake increased 10 fold....they had to constantly go to the bathroom and were waking up at all hours of the night to go to the bathroom too. When I put them back on the Natural Balance, their water intake went back to normal. There also have been no long-term studies of the long-term effects of increased protein diets in domesticated animals. So, all those things considered, I want to stick to a food that has a decent amount of protein, but not over about 27%.
Unfortunately, the Wellness Whitefish has barley in it.

And the protein content in Wellness's allergy formula foods is TOO low and the first ingredient in those foods is NOT a meat product. And I looked on Evanger's website and did not see a trout formula.
