| First off I am so sorry this happened to you and your family.. I want to say that many yorkies (mine inclued) play in the hose. As for the 3 yr old playfully hitting the dog, I don't think it is the way it sounds. To me this poor man doesn't talk perfect English and it just doesn't come out the way I would explain it... Again I am so sorry for your loss, you and your family are in my prayers...

| I am so sorry for you all it must have been a terrible shock. If the heat in New Jersey has been as bad as in Ohio that possibly could have been part of it. I know my Crystal can take the cold but anything over 80 degrees and she is sick. Joan and Crystal |

| I still feel that you and your wife were very careless, having a tiny fragile baby such as this, if you let your 3 year old squirt this poor little baby with a hose. A three year old is really too young to be around a yorkie. My heart goes out to poor Diamond! I certainly hope you will think before you get another small baby like a yorkie as a playmate to your 3 to 6 or 8 year old son |

| wow, I wouldent blame if this guy never wants anything to do with this site ever again. I can not believe he actually felt he had to post the vet form to prove to anybody. And now getting scolded for something he had no idea would hurt let along kill his yorkie.

OMGosh, they just lost their baby, how harsh, and as for yorkies being to small to be around kids, what ever. I got my first yorkie before my oldest daughter was born. Does that mean I should have given up my 3yr old yorkie, I think not. I know MANY of us here have children, and I don't think that because we chose to start a family we shouldn't be entitled to a small breed dog...

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss/ I for one think that it might of been Hypoglycemie, Its to hot for any babie to be out longer then 15-20 minutes at a time. and The puppy getting to much water could of been the reason too. again Im so sorry for your loss. |

| I may have been too harsh with my words. I am strictly going by what he said. If you research yorkies, you know they are not for small children. I certainly do not think someone should give up their baby just because they are fixing to have a family. I am saying that if you are responsible enough to have a child, you would certainly teach him/her about the tiny baby. BUT apparently this was a normal thing to play in the hose. Can you honestly say you would let your son at 3, point a hose towards your pup without constantly watching, knowing your son is just a baby himself? My heart goes out to Diamond.... |

| To those of you who are feeling my pain thanks for your kind words, but to the ones with the negatives comments my son wasn't squirting water in Diamond's face she was in the house when the water was being put in the pool she got a little wet she puts herself in front of the hose all the time but this day I held her back my husband is Spanish and he words things differently and he wasn't outside the whole time , I LOVED THAT DOG AS IF I GAVE BIRTH TO HER SHE HAD FUVN IN THE 5 YEARS SHE SPEND WITH US SO SHE'S HAPPY WHERE IS NOW SHE KNOWS THAT SHE WAS LOVE. I'M THINKING SOMETHING ELSE WAS WRONG.DIAMOND ALWAYS JUMPED IN AND OUT OF THE POOL BY HERSELF WITH NO PROBLEMS. THANKS |

| I am so sorry for your loss. Accidents happen, we have all seen it here, but when something bad does happen, as a community all we can do is give our support to those who are mourning, and try and learn something from the whole experience. Please, let's try and do that. It's always so easy to point fingers, and it never gets us anywhere on here. And again, I am sorry for the loss of your poor little Diamond. |

Well said! I second that! All i have to add is please be careful to all yorkie owners with small children, we all know these dogs are fragile, we can teach our own children how to handle small breeds and how to go around with animals, thats our duty as parents! Im sorry for the loss of little Diamond!
