| So the breeder took these pictures and is disclosing this to you? I think many Yorkies have the look of the little pursed mouth, but I think I detect a tooth showing in the first picture. |

| The breeder did send me the pictures, She has been nothing but truthful with me. She says it's really to early to tell if she will stay that way or outgrow it. I was just looking for other opinons since this is my first yorkie. I have read that the lower jaw grows faster than the top, they can outgrow them etc. I just want to make sure of all possible issues before deciding. the other one I am looking at is adorable too.

| I think it an overbite (upper overlapping lower). My yorkie is an overbite and I don't see any problem with that. |

mouth is closed will come down inside of the lower jaw on an under bite. It looks like a very slight over bite but in pics at this point that's even hard to confirm. If your just looking for a pet neither a slight under or over bite will make any difference in what kind of companion she'll be. I have one with an under bite and she's awesome and this poses no problem for her.

| Hey everyone its me the breeder Shanna from West Coast Biewers & Yorkies....LOL I am very honest and upfront with anyone about my babies. Blossom is showing signs of the bottom jaw growing faster than the top. Which could mean that she may develop a underbite, however her mother did the same thing as a puppy and her bite is a wonderful scissor bite now. I just like to keep my potential new mommies informed as early as possible. One of the puppies from the last litter did the same thing and I am trying to find out if she still has an underbite or not. Unfortunately, I can't always get the people to respond back to me. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Hi Shanna, Many times the puppy outgrows the bad bite, but buyers shouldn't count on it. If the puppy is being sold as a potential breeder, I'm sure your contract will cover both you and the buyer, as you are a honorable person. |

| Hi Dee It's nice to see you here too....LOL Yorkie and Biewer lovers are everywhere arent we? I like to let people know as soon as I notice a flaw, that way like you said they don't get their hopes up. I would never sell a puppy to be used as a breeder if they had a bad bite, I am trying to improve upon the breed. gottastamp is a very nice lady and wants a pet only, she was just worried that an underbite would be costly or cause future health problems so I referred her here to consult with experienced breeders and yorkie lovers. It's always scary buying a companion from someone you don't know. |

| bite IT does not look under to me at this point...look at the top teeth..they are slightly over the bottom..all looks fine to me right now... AND at this point it is in no way considered an over bite.. Ouite frankly..I say..perfect right now... Last edited by YorkieRose; 04-13-2008 at 09:12 AM. |

| I'll tell you this, the puppy is adorable. It is hard to tell for sure but to me the bite looks almost even, just maybe a tad off. The bite should in no way effect the health of the puppy unless it was way off. I think that if you are purchasing just as a pet then I would not let the bite worry me too much if you like this girl better than the other one. |

| It looks like a slightly undershot jaw now but until the adult teeth are in nothing is certain. Denali was slightly undershot at 14 weeks but her top incisors came in before the bottom and locked a scissor bite in. She is now AKC pointed at 12 months old and has a beautiful bite. Sometimes you just can't tell til you get there.
