What can i expect at the 1st visit?I know he is getting his 15th week shots. How do yorkies feel after their shots?is he going to be sick and throw up? I dont wanna see him in pain |

Your vet will do a physical exam, wich will include checking his coat, listening to his chest, feeling his belly, looking into his ears, eyes and mouth, also they night take his temp, wich seemed to bother my Jeter more then the shots did He did not like that one bit and I do not blame him for yelping!!

| he is 3 months today.I dont want him to grow up so fast, they are so cute when they are puppies. Yes,the breeder gave me Leo's shot records which im taking to the vet. She told me not to get the rabbies and bordetella shot today.they need to be 2 weeks apart. She also said i can get the rabbies later. How old were your yorkies when they gotten these shots? |

| For the rabies shot I recommend you wait as long as possible. If your state requires one before 6 months then I would wait until your puppy is 6 months old. I do not give mine the bordetella shot but I use a homeopathic formula I get from my vet. The bordetella shot is controversial because your puppy could actually get kennel cough from the shot and the shot does not actually prevent your puppy from getting kennel cough if exposed to it. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Rabies vaccine depends on wich state and county that you live in. I live in Ohio and am in Erie county, I called our local dog warden and asked about the age Jeter had to be for the vaccine. I was told rabies is a problem with wild raccoons in our area So they have it were you have to vaccinate any cat, dog or pet ferret at age 3 months, vets have to fallow this guideline. Rabies was the very last shot Jeter got and he was 15 weeks old when he got it. His shots were given at age 7 weeks, 9 weeks, 11 weeks, 13 weeks, and 15 weeks. He did not get Bordetella or Leptospirosis. Thankfully Lepto is not a problem and my vet advises toy breeds not to get it.

| Leo's visit to the vet was great. She was very nice and she took her time to tell us all about his health and the shots. He did get his 15week old shots and the bortadella. He will go back for the booster shot in 4weeks and might get the rabbie shot too. He was such a good puppy during the whole exam and he was fine afterwards. He wasnt tired at all. they also gave us a little gift basket with some samples of organic foods and lots of interesting health reading material and he got few toys. im glad i found a great vet |
