BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Cod Liver Oil? Do you think it's ok to give my babies cod liver oil? If so, how much would you recommend? Ever since Baby had the puppies, her coat is very dry and itchy. I feed them a holistic diet but i think she needs something to go with it. |

| I think cod liver oil or salmon oil would be very good for her. Probably about 1/4 teaspoon a day. The problem I have had with my dogs is that they hate the taste of anything fishy. You may need to add it to something tasty in order to make sure she is getting it. |

| I don't use fish oils-the Cod Liver oil is from the liver of the fish-which can contain all the toxins from whatever the fish ate or swam in. The salmon oil is a better alternative, and used by lots of homecookers here on YT, but I prefer not to use it because there is a risk of there being mercury in the salmon oil, and because it can make our furbabies smell fishy! I use a flax oil-I get it at our health food store, in the refrigerated section. It has a nutty smell/flavor which they really like, and it has all the same Omega 3 benefits as fish oil-without the risk of mercury.

Welcome to YT! I would love to see pics of your furbaby-check out the "My Yorkie Pictures" section, and post some of your own How old is she? I think posessive behavior is normal, to some extent, but if you let it continue, you could end up with an aggressive yorkie. You need to let her know YOU are the leader, and that you will take care of her, not the other way around. If someone comes in, and she starts acting out, make her sit and stay. Only when she is calm, she will be allowed to come and meet the new person. The best thing for the new person to do is to ignore her at first. Allow her to sniff the person and check them out-DON'T let the new person look at her, talk to her, or give her any kind of attention. Once your yorkie has checked things out and is calmer, then she can be rewarded with attention for good behavior.

Layla's stomach can't deal with the oils... flax seed is an option but keep in mind in some pups it causes itching! | |

| Take the guess work out of it and get some Linatone. It's a great product that I have used many, many times over the years. You will be amazed at the difference it makes in the coat! If you have a dog that sheds, then there is the Linatone with Zinc. I wouldn't use that one on the Yorkie or other non-shedding breeds though. |

| There is much controversy regarding soy...Some people believe that it is very beneficial and others believe that it is unhealthy. Do some research on the topic...It's very interesting.
