I don't use fish oils-the Cod Liver oil is from the liver of the fish-which can contain all the toxins from whatever the fish ate or swam in. The salmon oil is a better alternative, and used by lots of homecookers here on YT, but I prefer not to use it because there is a risk of there being mercury in the salmon oil, and because it can make our furbabies smell fishy!

I use a flax oil-I get it at our health food store, in the refrigerated section. It has a nutty smell/flavor which they really like, and it has all the same Omega 3 benefits as fish oil-without the risk of mercury.
