Donating YT 30K Club Member | My vets call me themselves after any procedure and with all lab work. I have never had a vet tech meet with me. As forthe matting, Cali is very thick cottony coat and I brucs her almost daily and she still gets vey matted becauseshe scratches all the time. I just took her to a great groomer yesterdayy and she thinned her out and got all the mats out. That was terrible for her to say that. I would be verye mad.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know alot of people will feel this way, but personally, I don't see the problem with the way she worded this. I realize it hurt your feelings, but I think she was trying to let you know that she realized the pet was "well loved", if she had not added that part, I would agree with you. Sometimes we have to hear things about our children or pets that make us feel like terrible mothers, but don't take it to heart. Be thankful for a vet that's not afraid to tell someone the truth even if it does hurt your feelings. Some people don't realize that those mats can be very painful for the puppy. The important thing is that you learned you need to do something to make your puppy more comfortable and isn't that what counts?

| I would have been upset if someone said that to me. the words "severe" & "neglected" don't sit well with me in any sense. That said, Lucy was one big matt until I cut her puppy coat down. I would brush and condition until she was about raw but it didn't help. I finally cut her down in the heat of the summer and the coat that has grown in is so soft and tangle free I could easily skip a day of combing if I wanted and she wears some type of clothes every day.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I did want to add that some people have recommended a silk under shirt for wearing under clothes to cut down on matting. I believe one of our members makes them. You might want to do a search for "silk undershirt."
