I would have been upset if someone said that to me. the words "severe" & "neglected" don't sit well with me in any sense.

That said, Lucy was one big matt until I cut her puppy coat down. I would brush and condition until she was about raw but it didn't help. I finally cut her down in the heat of the summer and the coat that has grown in is so soft and tangle free I could easily skip a day of combing if I wanted and she wears some type of clothes every day.
