| ![]() Thank you so much for sharing. I am so sorry to hear about your baby though! Check out the Natural Balance Rolls and Treats. I have switched Tino and Bunny over and they love the Natural Balance Organic Formula. There are also a variety of treats as well that you can feed. There is also a search function on the site to help you find out where to buy in your area or you can order from Jeffer's Pets. Here is the link: www.naturalbalanceinc.com/

| ![]() Thank you for sharing yoru heart breaking story! I have printed it out and put it on my family bulletin board so my family will understand why I am so strict about "no people food, especially beef". They think I am kooky. Maybe your story will save some other yorkies from the same fate. |

| ![]() Swtnutns, I am so sorry that you lost your precious baby. Please know that you are in our hearts and in our prayers. It was just a couple of weeks ago that my little Daisy went through a pancreatitis episode. She had eaten an entire bowl of catfood at a relative's house before I could stop her. We were lucky: she became very, very ill but survived. It just frightens me to hear people talk about giving their little ones pork, peanut butter, and other high fat foods. Their little pancreas cannot handle such foods. We are strictly low fat at our house after this scare, and consider those items at the pet store to be for Great Danes, or some other breed of big dog whose body can handle the fat intake. Please, Yorkie Lovers, please listen to this warning from Swtnutns!! Pancreatitis in these little ones is no small matter! By the way, if you or your friends have Schnauzers, according to my vet, Schnauzers are even more prone to pancreatitis than Yorkies. Spread the word to them as well. Daisy and Barnie's mom, Janet |

| ![]() I am so sorry for what you are going through. Zeus has also battled this horrible illness and it was so painful to watch. He is fine now, but he is on a very strict diet. His started because of peanut butter. It is very high in fat. So, no more of that for him. Thanks for helping to educate the community. We don't want other little ones to suffer from this very painful disease.

| ![]() Hi, I'm joining this forum today after reading about your loss. First my condolences to your family for the loss of your precious child. My boy, Sammy was rushed to the vet today and immediately hospitalized with pancreatitis. He was fine last night, and this morning throwing up, diareah, and very lethargic. So not right for this 12 year old bundle of energy that's the light of my life. I am thankful he got to the vet's in time after reading how bad this can be. In terms of his diet, so that everyone knows, my boy was on z/d diet and got absolutely nothing else but this special diet food for his skin allergies. We didn't stray one ounce from the diet, not even a crumb. He has no other medical issues so it's not related to that and apparently it came out of the blue for no reason, though his blood showed high content of fat. He's been on the diet for over two months. It's z/d diet, both the canned and the dry.....so this can happen out of the blue. Know the signs and symptoms. It's scary. Caught early and there's a great deal of hope. Again, my heart goes out to you for your loss. Know there are many of us who grieve with you. Chris, Sammy's mom |

| ![]() I am so sorry for your loss, but thank you for sharing your story. It is great information to be aware of. Sissy does get people food, because I cannot get her to eat any dry or canned dog food at all. The closest she gets is to eat the Natural Balance meat rolls, but not nearly enough. I am selective in what she gets - lowfat yogurt and old fashioned oatmeal with either papaya or mango for breakfast. For dinner, she meat rolls is first and depending on how much she eats, perhaps a little plain, grilled chicken or fish with either brown rice or potato and whatever vegetable I'm eating. She is only 4 lbs, so I will never just let her be with the philosophy of she'll eat when she's hungry. I'm not willing to see what happens and just how long she would go without eating. I could lose her easily that way too.

| ![]() Sorry about that sad news. Our two Yorkies did have the same problem at the same time too. They had the same symptoms of throwing up yellow bile but fortunately we were able to get them to the vet right away and they were both given fluids , antibiotics and anti-vomitting medications. They still have occasional flare ups when they get overly stressed but the vet instructed us to give them PEPTO BISMOL at the first sign of sickness. This helps tremendously and this keeps their stomachs more regular. In addition we only feed them a mixture of the Dick Van Patten's Organic Formula(13% crude fat) and the Duck Formula(6 % crude fat). For treats we found these snacks called Chicken Buddies which are all natural chicken chips which only have 2 % crude fat and Charlee Bears which only has 6 % crude fat. And they never have any people food at all. Please don't get snacks like Snausages or similar kinds from the pet store because they contain high levels of crude fat. Hopefully your surviving yorkie will continue in good health. Wishing you the best. |

| ![]() Hello Jodie...You can get them from Dr's Foster & Smith...or regular Pet Stores like Petco and PetSmart. My husband & I just came across them when we were reading all the nutrient contents of treats available out there. We are really very careful about fat contents now after going through that scary, stressful and expensive pancreatitis episode. ![]() |

| ![]() We also make it a point to always feed them on a regular schedule. Their stomachs are so sensitive. |
