Swtnutns, I am so sorry that you lost your precious baby. Please know that you are in our hearts and in our prayers.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that my little Daisy went through a pancreatitis episode. She had eaten an entire bowl of catfood at a relative's house before I could stop her. We were lucky: she became very, very ill but survived.

It just frightens me to hear people talk about giving their little ones pork, peanut butter, and other high fat foods. Their little pancreas cannot handle such foods. We are strictly low fat at our house after this scare, and consider those items at the pet store to be for Great Danes, or some other breed of big dog whose body can handle the fat intake.

Please, Yorkie Lovers, please listen to this warning from Swtnutns!! Pancreatitis in these little ones is no small matter!

By the way, if you or your friends have Schnauzers, according to my vet, Schnauzers are even more prone to pancreatitis than Yorkies. Spread the word to them as well.

Daisy and Barnie's mom,
Janet
