| Mental issue? I have two Yorkies, Daisy and Duke who are brother and sister. They have been crate trained and for the most part are well behaved.... our only issue is Daisy's small but very annoying habit of pacing. She will pace anywhere, anytime, no matter WHAT!!! she wont stop even when we try to pursuade her with treats. Its almost as if she has a mental disorer. She also has other issues like a horrible fear of strangers and noises outside. She also freaks out if we move the location of her crate (whines, barks, poo's even though she is house trained). She has not been abused at all....no one in my family can understand this behavior!!! please help |

| Welcome to YT. I am sure that someone on here will have some hints for you. I'm quite the dummy so I can't give you advice but we have lots of really knowledgable people on here. Good Luck.

| I'm don't know if this could be....but could your baby have OCD? Have you talked with your vet. Maybe he could give her some kind of meds.

| yes we talked with the vet but they seem to think its something that will go away and wont give us a different answer. OCD sounds almost right on the money though. If it is i hope there is somehting for it. I feel sorry for her though its almost like she cant stop doing it once she starts.and her brother looks at her like she's crazy, thank goodness he doesnt do it too though!! |

| Since you live in Ft. Worth, maybe you can come to our next meet up. I am in Krum and we usually have them in Southlake.

| Just a thought, before you go to a behaviorist, maybe get a second opinion from another vet.

| Well I can't understand why you have never heard of Krum...it's about the size of a peanut. We're just outside of Denton.

| I just want to say hi and welcome. Daisy and Duke are the cutest names. I am not much help as to your question but hopefully you can find a solution for your little pacer. Hope to see pics of your furbabies too.

| Chewy will sometimes get into the paceing thing. Mostly when he thinks he sees something or someone out side. (there might be nothing there!) If he can't stop himself I put him in his create with a comfy blanket and soothing talk. I let him stay there for a while and he calms down.

| Where did you get them? Dogs raised in small cages with little human contact can develop certain behaviors like pacing and circling. That along with her extreme fear of strangers and noises makes me wonder if she she came from that type of background. If your vet has ruled out a medical reason for her behavior, I'd consult a behaviorist. |
