| Hello everybody! I don't want to speak too soon, but I think my little baby doing better! I went to the vet yesterday to Brooklyn, 2222 Ave X, phone#(1718)891-2370, I like this vet I think he knows what he's doing, he examined my baby, listened her lungs very carefully he said she has a fluids into her lungs(but not much), did X-Ray, he said no Pneumonia, but Bronchitis, he said to stop giving Amoxicillin by mouth, stop giving Hydrocodone or any Robitussin because he wants the sputum to spit out when she coughs (because right now she has a moist , wet cough), and he said continue to give nebulizer treatment with Albuterol and he gave me antibiotic:Gentamicyn inhalant, also to be given through nebulizer, he said this is much better than give antibiotic by mouth because it goes directly into her lungs, and that's what we need. Good thing a have nebulizer machine at home, otherwise I should bring her 2 times daily to that clinic for nebulizer treatment. And right now I think she is doing much better after 2 times nebulizer treatment with Albuterol and Gentamicyn, now is the day time I did not give her any Robitussin or Hydrocodone and she is not coughing like before. I hope my little baby will be filling better soon! Thank you everyone to be with me at this not easy time for me and my little girl. I wish nobody to be sick like that. |

| i am so glad both of your babies are doing better. They are so lucky to have parents that love them. I don't have any children so my harley is just like my baby boy. I really can't express my love for him!!! I hope all continues well and i am praying for recovery. i found this prayer when i was searching for info on my baby's broken leg - thought you might like it too. harley's mom PRAYER FOR OUR ANIMAL FRIENDS (To make a Novena for a sick pet, say this prayer for 9 consecutive days) Heavenly Father, our human ties with our friends of other species is a wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of Yours. They have trust in us as we have in You; our souls and theirs are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and fill Your ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have. (Here mention the names of the animals needing prayer) Harley Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and Your grace flows to all Your creatures. From our souls to theirs goodness flows, touching each of us with the reflection of Your love. Grant to our special animal companions long and healthy lives. Give them good relationships with us, and if You see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us, but only drawing closer to You. Grant our prayer through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored You through all Your creatures. Give him the power to watch over our animal friends until they are safely with You in eternity, where we someday hope to join them in giving You honor forever. Amen. __________________ |

| I've been following both your tread and I can't tell you how glad I was to hear they are doing better. I hope you are at the end of this cycle and they can now start living happy, healthy puppy lives. But, in case you see a relapse, please consider calling a vetenary college to ask for advice. I know that Cornell University has one of the best Vetenary Colleges in the country, hopefully they may be able to steer you in the right direction. But, lets hope you don't need now or ever will... good luck. |

| Thank you so much. It's been 3 days and Sam has stopped the coughing I believe for good! It's actually weird that he's not anymore. I feel like now I can start treating him like a normal healthy puppy. I think we're going to start teaching him to go outside to potty now since he started his heartworm medication and frontline and he's not sick anymore. This should be a challenge since he's trained for inside so we'll see. I'm going to hope for the best!

A lot of progress for the last 3,5 month! she is coughing less and less now, and didn't cough at all during the day. This medication really working. Doctor said even if she is stop coughing at all continue giving this inhalant-nebulizer Gentamicyn until it's finished, that's what I'm going to do of cause, and I HOPE this terrible cough is never coming back! I wish every puppy to be healthy and happy and stay well all their life! Thanks to this forum, and everybody who were thinking and praying for my little girl Lola!!! |

| This is very common Hi Steve! This sounds like something that many people go through. When I bought my yorkie she was fine the first two weeks. Then she developed a cough and got sad so i took her in for an emegency check-up and they took x-ray and basically put my dog on Clavamox. After i took her to the regular vet and he gave her Clavamox every 12 hours and Amynophyline. She is much better now she very cheery but still cough in the mornings and after naps. I am going to the vets again for a follow up to see whats next since this has been going on for about 2 months now. Hope this helps. OH! Switch you dog from a collar to a harness when taking it out for walks this prevents further distress. |
