| He's humping without testicals??? Ok this might sound really weird and I'm sitting here with a smile on my face writing this out. Little Pacino, only 3 months old, has started to hump! He has no testis because they didnt drop yet, and I dont see any sign of "male excitement" going on down their either. What the heck is going on?? I'm so confused and weirded out!! haha Why does he do this?? And what do I do?? I think a puppy strip club is out of the question here...hes underage anyway. |

| Oliver made little humping motions the very first day we had him home. He was maybe six weeks old. Sometimes it seemed he just ended up doing it without thinking first |

| One of Archie's testicals never dropped. Just days after coming home at 3 months, Archie humped my best friend on the head while she was playing with him in the floor. Then he discovered his blankie, which he continues to hump to this day (though now he has no testicals at all since neutering at 7 months! He's two years old now!). Funny thing is -- he will only hump the blankie -- he has never humped me or anyone else (though he has a special fondness for my best friend!). So, even if you neuter him, he may still hump -- they say it's a dominance thing, not a sexy puppy thing! Dunno what you can do about it -- maybe someone else has a solution.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | OK, the humping issue is a major reason I just don't think I want another male. My Mozart does (ahem - clears throat) "dominate" his special bunny friend , but thank goodness, ONLY that! It seems to be an after-dinner ritual. He's never attempted to hump any persons or Abigail. There's a male yorkie in town that I don't dare even pick up, as he can't seem to help humping everyone's arm

| even though the testicles haven't dropped, he still has testosterone. He's still young enough that his will probably drop. Cryptorchid males have one or both testes that never drop and are retained in the abdomen - because of this the environment is too hot for sperm to be viable..so cryptorchid males are usually infertile. However, the high temperature does NOT have an effect on the cells that produce testosterone so cryptorchid males display all normal male characteristics and have the same amount of testosterone in their bodies. Cryptorchid males have 10times the risk for testicular cancer though so if they don't drop, you definitely want to have him neutered.

| A friend of mine threw out the idea that it could be a dominance issue as well. If it turns out to be just that, is there anything I could do while he is doing his little "dominance dance" that will show him that I am the more dominant one/pack leader? Do I grab him and pin him down? And if it isn't a dominance issue, could he really be sexual frustrated at such a young age? I would hate to think I have to sit him down and discuss the "birds and the bees" and talk to him about protection haha. Last edited by Issa4you10; 01-09-2008 at 09:58 PM. |

| Yes Humping at that age is usually a dominance thing, I have a male yorkie and he hardly humped at all before being neutered. I have a female maltipoo and she humped quite abit when she was really little, she is two now and doesnt do it anymore. Also my Mothers female poodle who is spayed and 9 years old still humps if you give her a large stuffed animal. So this is normal and really has nothing to do with their sex but dominance |

| Carlos does not hump a lot but when he does it is usually my husbands arm or leg. The worst part of it is I tell my husband to tell him no and roll him on his back, but no since my husband is so immature he just sits there and laughs like he has never seen anything like it in his life. I always know what is going on when he is laughing and calls me in the room to see. I swear sometimes.

| So its a dominance issue. Phew... I only mentioned pinning him down because I read it somewhere and it talked about being a pack leader and taking on the role as the "mother". It said to pin them down and hold them until they look away. But the few times I tried it he kept repeating the bad behavior (biting). If I clap he doesnt respond nor when I stomp. Not even the word "no" scares him. I'll try shaking a can with coins in it, but if I cant get a hold of a can while he starts his "naughty" or bad behavior, is there something else I can do without using an object to get his attention? |
