| Multiple dogs How do you all handle feeding more than one yorkie (or more than one dog, in general)? I have a yorkie (Jasper) and a doxie mix (Peanut). Peanut is 4 yrs old and has always been a perfect weight for his size. He would eat until full then walk away. He never over ate. Fast forward ------ we bring a new puppy into the house (Jasper) who is 13 months at adoption. We have had 2 dogs in our house for a month now and Peanut now trys to chow down every morsel that is placed in their respective bowls. Jasper is easily distracted and steps away, only to come back to an empty bowl! He isn't a big eater but rather a grazer. My problem has been how to keep Peanut OUT of Jasper's bowl but still allow Jasper an adequate amount of time to finish his meals. Any ideas? I have tried feeding them in separate rooms, but as I said Jasper is a grazer and I'd have to keep Peanut in another room for hours! |

| We have three... We do not free feed. When it is time to eat, everyone has their own dish in the kitchen and when they are finished eating, they must leave the bowl area. We don't allow anyone to even sniff someone else's bowl. It was tough at first but now it's just the routine. Good luck with yours...it takes some time so don't get discouraged. Cheers, Lorene

| I don't free feed either. I put their bowls down for about twenty minutes, and then pick them back up. Maybe if you get the baby down on a schedule he/she will eat better.

| I have several cats, one on a diet. I used to free feed them until the diet came. Now, everyone eats at the same time, supervised. When they stop eating, the bowls come up. I offer food again a short time later, again supervised. When done with that, there is no more until the next meal. All have learned to eat when it is put out or go hungry.

| I feed 2x a day for about 30 mins at a time...except for Maddie Maddie needs to put on some weight, so I feed her canned mixed in dry one extra time in a separate room and then when Ryder gets here he'll also eat separately 4x a day. He's only 18 ounces at 11 weeks, so he eats a special diet to keep his sugar up |
