| ![]() My Sadie girl was just diagnosed with Pancreatitis. I would have your Vet test for this. My Sadie has not had blood in her stool. She has had vomiting and diarrhea on and off. we are seeing a specialist this week. |

But I have heard that blood in stool and vomiting can be the andvanced stages of Pancreatitis. Sadie has had vomiting and diarrhea on and off. we are seeing a specialist this week. |

| ![]() [QUOTE=quack;1549567]Sassafras came home from the hospital last night. She was so happy to see us and come home. She has kept down all of her food since she has been home and has been drinking her water good too. SOOOO glad she's home safe and sound... and doing well. I'll be hoping and praying that she's on the right track and will continue to improve. |

![]() I know cats are obligate carnivores, but dogs, although carnivorous don't qualifyas obligate carnivores. In fact, sometimes I wonder if they shouldn't be describes as omnivorous, like bears. I THOUGHT ( but could be wrong) that unlike felines who shake out stomach contents of their prey, that dogs consume grains and vegetation when eating stomach contents. Also, unlike obligate carnivores, dogs are able to digest certain amounts of carrion and even (as is proven by some of the poorer quality commerical foods) live for years on a cereal diet. Not that I'm suggesting this is a GOOD thing ![]() I find this subject fascinating though... so many opinions, experiences and so much to learn. Please don't feel I'm being argumentive, I'm just looking for clarification and a greater understanding.

WONDERFUL news - (happy dance) What is her behaviour like... any increased energy or things that make you feel that she's more comfortable etc.? I guess it's still a bit early to tell. ![]()
