Ronda - I'm sorry to hear Teddi is having nightmares about her experience at the hospital. It must've been so scary for her! Let's just hope the test results lead you to something to treat the problem so she doesn't have to spend anymore time in the hospital!!!!!!!!! Let us know when you get the results!

Hi Everyone!

I spoke to Teddi's doctor and she said the shunt is the one that is going around the liver and is operable. I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow at 9:30 am to go over the test results and to get more info. The doctor I spoke to today said they like her to be on meds for at least 10 days before they do surgery. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

That's good news that it's operable... poor little Teddi. I hope everything goes well with the surgeon tomorrow!

Omg, so Teddi does have a liver shunt? I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you both make it through safely. You guys are in my prayers.

Well, I'm sorry it's indeed a liver shunt, but at least it's operable! I'll continue keeping you and Teddi in my prayers! Sukoshi says Teddi has to get better so she can play with her at the next meet-up!!!

That is the news you were hoping for - that Teddi's condition can be mended with surgery. I know it's scary, but just remember how well she came through the anesthesias before!
Is she still having doggie nightmares? Give that precious little Angel a cuddle from me. Please let me know if there is absolutely anything I can do for you. I am only a phone call away.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Ditto that. I was so worried that Teddi could possibly have the inoperable kind of liver shunt. From the research I have done, those that have the surgery, stand an excellent chance of a normal life post-op. We want our little pal to be able to play with Sukoshi and Mango VERY soon:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork.

oh ronda.. im sorry lil teddi has to go through this(and you too OF COURSE!!) BUT it is GREAT news that it is operable!! really!! so i am glad for that, at least. i will continue to keep you guys in my prayers!! i hope you guys had a nice thanksgiving too..xo.:)

Have Ronda tried contacting the breeder? I know that Teddi's parents are in Korea, but I think they should stop breeding if one of the pups have liver shunt.

I pray Teddi's surgery will be successful and that she will have a speedy recovery.

I know it's not the best news but now you know what needs to be done to help her. The worst part is the "Not Knowing" and that's behind you now.

I'm glad that the shunt is operable and we all know Teddi will be 100% better! Keep us updated with any news and don't feel like you can't call me or Lauren, or Lisa if you need to talk. We are all here for the two of you!

Jazzie, Jolie & Jen is wishing Teddi well and looking forward to seeing her at the future meet-ups!

I'm sorry that Teddi indeed has a shunt.:( But the good news is that it is operable. I'll keep praying that everything goes well, and that little Teddi is 100% in no time! :)

I talked to the doctors and they said that people think that the parents should be tested and that it has something to do with that but they said that has never been proven. They said it is something that just happens and they have never been able to trace it back to anything, including the parents. He said that it is a myth that if the parents are tested and are clean that the puppies will not have it....he said a lot of people believe that but that is not the case.
