Something is wrong with Teddi!
 
I left for work today and left a bully stick for Teddi. When I came home she had eaten it but she is acting very weird. I feel like it is stuck in her throat or something. Her tongue is hanging out but not like it normally does and it is all wet around her mouth. She won't let me look in her mouth. She is acting weird too like walking around aimlessly. I called the vet and they can get her in at 8:00 pm. I took her out for a walk and if she wasn't on a leash she would have walked right out into the street. I tried to tell her I had a treat for her but she ignored me. I called my neighbor over to see her and she normally runs over to her and licks her but she just ignored her. Something is really, really wrong.

My chihuahua was acting like that last month. I thought she wasn't breathing right. Wouldn't let me check her mouth. The vet found a tooth that was half in half out in her jaw area....she couldn't shut her mouth. They had to extract three jaw teeth. After the surgery, antibiotics, etc. she feels much better. Get your puppy in as soon as possible and good luck!

You need to get her to the Vet ASAP.
Sound like she is getting a little air but not enough.
Don't stress her and cause her to breath harder.

Just now reading this and it's close to 8:00 pm...I do hope that everything is alright...please keep up posted....praying for your lil one and hope everything is alright.

Oh my goodness, Rhonda!:( I hope everything is okay with Teddi! I will say a prayer that she's okay and that the vet fixes her up. Please keep us posted.

I hope everything is okay. I always throw bully stix away when they get to be about an inch and a half long so that Lacy doesn't accidentally swallow and choke on then end.

Well I don't think it had anything to do with the bully stick (I actually think that Cassie must have eaten that). The vet did x-rays and blood work and then said she should go to the hospital so I just got back from taking her to the hospital. The doctor there is going to do more blood work and should have some more answers for me about 3:00 am. She thinks she might have a liver shunt. She said it is prevelent in yorkies. I guess I won't know any more until 3:00 am. I'm so sad!!

Oh goodness...how scary for you and her. :( You two will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I hope you have good news to share in the morning.

My goodness, I am so sorry! I am sure you are very sad. I had no idea that if they had liver shunt that the symptoms would just appear so fast like that.

They got some results back and they think it is leading towards the liver shunt but they have to wait for another test which could take a take to do. They are giving her some antibiotics right now but they said she ate recently and ate well. I am going to go visit her at 10:00 am when they have visiting hours and get some more information from the Doctor on duty at that time. Thank you for all your prayers and please keep praying...we need all we can get.
