| Ahh, I hope dogs can't get strep from humans. I have strep right now and I'd die if I got Lilly sick... surely it isn't true.

| the only way they do it here at the vet we use, and used to use is up the nose, so, I had no clue there was any other way..learn something new everyday.. |

| Lacy always had the shot until we started using a new vet here. She got the intranasal for the first time then. The intranasal is actually more effective since it stimulates an immune response in the mucosa. With a respiratory infection like bordetella, it infects the mucosa so the shot form doesn't work as well. The only way I know how to explain it in detail is kindof complicated...it involves specific types of antibodies and all..but yeah, intranasal is better

| strept is bactereal everyone has it all the time, but a weak immune system will bring on symptoms of it. i would think it would be the same for animals but who knows.

| I am quite positive that dogs can be a carrier of strep. I have seen this a few times working as a let tech at an animal hospital. I have also sent out strep cultures to labs that have come back positive. You can put a search on the web for dog and strep if you want more info. The dogs that I have seen don't usually show any signs of it. |
