Other dogs and if its not taken cared of , it can result in pneumonia just like humans .

Ahh, I hope dogs can't get strep from humans. I have strep right now and I'd die if I got Lilly sick... surely it isn't true.

It's not actually a shot they get for bordatella, they put stuff up their noses...

As far as a cold, the vet told me yes, they can get colds, but, not from us..

the bordatella vaccine comes in two forms: intra-nasal, and sub-q injection.

the only way they do it here at the vet we use, and used to use is up the nose, so, I had no clue there was any other way..learn something new everyday..

Lacy always had the shot until we started using a new vet here. She got the intranasal for the first time then. The intranasal is actually more effective since it stimulates an immune response in the mucosa. With a respiratory infection like bordetella, it infects the mucosa so the shot form doesn't work as well. The only way I know how to explain it in detail is kindof complicated...it involves specific types of antibodies and all..but yeah, intranasal is better

strept is bactereal everyone has it all the time, but a weak immune system will bring on symptoms of it. i would think it would be the same for animals but who knows.

I am quite positive that dogs can be a carrier of strep. I have seen this a few times working as a let tech at an animal hospital. I have also sent out strep cultures to labs that have come back positive. You can put a search on the web for dog and strep if you want more info. The dogs that I have seen don't usually show any signs of it.

some states also do different things...sometimes the law in each state requires even vets to do the same thing..
