I have 3 Morkies myself, in addition to one Yorkie. They are all wonderful little fur kids.

![]() Lily is a morkie and her matts are terrible to get out lol...I try to bath her about once a week. I have been doing that since she was 2 months old, she's 1yr 6m now. I brush her while watching tv every other day but I think I might have to do it everyday bcuz she is still matting really bad. Her hair is thick and curly so its almost impossible to keep the matts out. I haven't tried a detangeler but I think I might have to now. I cut the hair around her eyes because I feel bad that she cant see and gets annoyed by it but I probably should've waited it out and let it grow :/

![]() If you use good shampoo without all the additives and rinse real well there skin won't dry out. I know about 15 Yorkies that get 1-2x a week and don't have dry skin

![]() I bathe my two year old Morkie, named Sadie, every two - three weeks. She gets tear stains often. She also gets what I like to call "eye boogies" that I wipe away several times a day. Having short hair around the eye area helps A LOT!!! So make sure the eye area is short. I trim her myself, as I used to work part time for a grooming salon back in high school. Although it's not difficult to trim the hairs inbetween grooming. Just be careful when using scissors near your dog's eyes!!! They can move their head easily. Especially when seeing scissors or anything close to their eyes. So make sure your dog's head is being held so her head doesn't move at all when trimming!!! I do this myself but you may want to have someone else hold your dog's head. If you don't think this can be done safely then please have your groomer do this!!! To answer your question - you should bathe your morkie every 2 - 4 weeks. If your morkie gets dirty from being outside or whatever then you should bathe your morkie that day! You should brush your morkie daily too. My morkie looks more like maltese. She had long curly white hair. But when it started getting warmer here in NJ, I decided to have her hair cut short. She looks even cuter with short hair. Sort of like a mini Labrador Retriever. Plus, brushing her has become much easier with short hair. If your morkie has long hair, you need to brush daily to avoid knots and hair getting matted.
