I cut the hair around her eyes because I feel bad that she cant see and gets annoyed by it but I probably should've waited it out and let it grow :/ |
My oldest Morkie, Meika has hair as you describe, but more wavy than curly. If her first 2 years, I grew her hair out floor length, but had to brush her once or twice a day to keep from getting mats. You need a good brush that goes deep. One thing that helped is Minksheen Shampoo with built-in conditioner, plus additional conditioner (I like Pet Silk). When I added 2 more Morkies to my pack, I didn't have the time from all that brushing, so I shaved the hair on her back, and only left the legs a little fluffy and face. I LOVE this cut so much more, and hardly any maintenance. I have my Yorkie and 2 other Morkies also cut like this and it is adorable on all. Odd that the 2 younger Morkies have more silky Yorkie-like fur and do not mat like Meika.
