![]() Hello, this is my first time posting, I enjoy reading about other morkies....I give mine a bath when he needs it...he loves water and dirt so does not stay clean long...I brush him a lot so he doesn't mind it. He's only 4 months so I haven't taken him to a groomer, I hope to do the small stuff myself. I have been cutting his eye hair since we've had him and I shave his toes and butt...I try his belly but he is too wiggly and it freaks me out because I have nipped him...I must say we've never owned a dog and we are in love with our puppy, he is adorable, has a great personality and is very smart...I read about morkies on the net and do not regret getting Tucker, he has taken over our lives...

![]() I am new also. I have a 6 month old morkie. I had a lot of trouble with her. She was mean, bites, barks, and has housebreaking issues. I have never had a puppie so rotten. She is also the sweetest most cuddly puppy if she is in control. I started telling her STOP and squirt with spray bottle. It worked instantly. Now I just say stop and she lays her little head down and stops what she is doing.

![]() Tucker is now 71/2 months...and has decided chewing things is a good thing...still struggling with the loose leash walking but it is improving...he too likes to be in control...he is quite a calm puppy, is good at entertaining himself, however as soon as he sees another dog he goes bananas, then everyone thinks he is hyper hyper hyper....we will enjoy this because they are not puppies for long..

![]() Hi, Oh yes, I forgot that she eats everything. She chewed my table, shoes, loves newspaper's. When I bought her I bought a maltypoo, as she got older I knew she wasn't poodle mix. I went on line and looked at the morkies and there she was. Mine is a little bigger then others on line. She is 6 mths and weights 8lbs. Nice to talk with you. Judy Sophie's mom

![]() We can't get mad at Sophie, if we do she gets worse. She has done great since using the spray bottle.

![]() How great it is to find so many Morkie mamas on here. My little Belle is 1 yr old today (10-18) We love her so mcuh despite the fact that she is a stinker! She doesn't have any stuffed toys left and feels that no couch pillows should have stuffing. If I don't catch her, she follows me around with a mouth full until I see her, then she runs. She shreds every bit of newspaper she can find, and lets not forget toilet paper and kleenex. She hates grooming, I think she is just too busy to be still for that long. Belle is black and white, We just had her first groomer session a couple weeks ago and it went good and bad. Her tail is docked like a Yorkies so the groomer cut all the fringe off ![]()

![]() My sister got a Morkie 4 months ago. He spends half his time with me and I pretty much train him to all sorts of things. Although, i think i should lay off the water because he keeps ringing the bell to go outside every 20 minutes. Anyhow, he responds to me more than his owners. I think it's because I spend way more time with him. His commands I taught are from YouTube. He is potty trained and other skills at 6 months include: Ringing bell to go outside, sitting, laying down, staying, leave items alone, fetching and retrieving toys, jumping up, crouching on hind legs, playing dead on "bang, bang!"-- rolls over, understands "leash" and holds head up while i attach a leash, jumping up, pulling, releasing on command, shaking paw, goes to crate on "go to sleep" command. Can identify from 2-3 different toys and fetches on command. Working on loose leash training, but he hates the leash. I am thinking of strapping him to my waste and just walking around the house for a weekend... any tips on loose leash training? Last edited by chewie2009; 12-27-2009 at 01:04 PM.

| ![]() I bathe Yuki usually once or twice a week...depending on the trips outside etc...I think it is best to keep products off of the face...In between washes I use a warm wash cloth to clean his face... you can gently blow dry. He did have a puppy cut, but now I am letting his hair grow long...while it is growing long enough for a topnot you can use tiny hair clips and also train hair to lay to one side...sort of like human hair...when we have bangs...train the hair to lay one way.. | ![]() Hello. This is my first time posting on here. I have a morkie puppy, Darwin, who is 13 weeks old. About a week ago I noticed she was matting up. I have slowly been combing her to get the tangles out (I got most of them!). Darwin HATES getting combed. She growls and bites. Yesterday, she bit me and broke skin. I started scolding her for biting, but she just went and hid in the corner. I feel horrible. Any ideas on what I can do? |

![]() My groomer told me to put cotton balls in the ears while bathing to cut down on risk of ear infections.

![]() Morkies are part of this forum. There is no separate forum for Morkies. Welcome to YT. We'd love to see photos of your little boy.
