| Yorkies Ears Hello! My baby girl Jeanie is 5.5 months, and we just now got her ears clipped right! WE had taken her to a few groomers, but none of them shaved the front and the back like you are supposed to if the ears are not standing. Her ears do not stand up (yet). I hope it isn't too late. I want her to have the cute little Yorkie ears....I will still love her to pieces if she doesn't, but that is such a trademark Yorkie thing. What are the chances that they won't stand up? I'm thinking of taping them like is suggested.....any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. I have attached a picture. This is a few weeks old, but her ears are about the same now (except that today they finally were shaved properly). |

| Hello. I am no expert so I don't know if it is to late but this is what I did for Bruizer. I read on a breeder page that it you fold the ear together to make it stand and tape it at the base for 3 days they usually stand and if the don't try it twice more 3 days each. But while doing that you can shave the ear in a V and it works better. The wieght of the hair on the ear tends to make it want to flop. I didn't shave Bruizers ears, I just taped them at the bace. But he was only 10 weeks old so they werent to hairy.lol I hope it works for you! Please keep me informed!!!! Best of luck.

| i dont know if i should advise this to anyone else but i use manicure scissors and cut all the back or the ear hair and front of the ear hair and all along the sides. i use my finger as a stopper so i dont cut his ear. like i will put my finger a little above the skin and clip the hair right above it. if you look at my new threads skoshi's ears are standing. |

| I thought Percy was going to have one floppy ear, so did the breeder. But, once we shaved down his ears completely, in a few weeks, it popped up on it's own. All we needed to do was get the extra hair off. He is about the same age as your little guy. It might just pop up on its own in a couple days without any help.

| I had to tape my newest pup's, but have noticed from time to time they want to flop a bit. I have been told before that when they are teething they might not wanna stand up. But I highly recommend taping em before long. I know I waited to long on Louie's so now his wont stand up. And def. trim the hair on em first. Good luck.

| hold the ear straight up lay the tape flat on the back and wrap the tape around the ear keeping it up and flat leave it on for a week.. THen the scissor up the back and then gently pull tape off.. if ears stay up great if not retape and leave it up another week if one is up and one is down tape the one that is down.. this will work keep hair shaved off by using mustache clippers... you might sitll have a chance if they dont stand up by 8 months well they will not stand up good luck.. |
