haha after i did the cut, my bf said i should open up my own biz... but i'd have to say, i'd only do yorkies, and only do puppy cuts!!! lol i doubt i'd get too many clients!!

Here is how I cut the ears, but you may like it your way best anyway, and of course it IS to each his own. Sorry if I over step myself here though.

I love this cut. I'm so glad I saw it as I plan on trying my first yorkie grooming this weekend. I bought a yorkie grooming DVD a couple of weeks ago and then ordered all the supplies from Pet Edge last weekend. I think this cut is similar to the personality cut the the grooming dvd shows. I know mine probably won't turn out this good but I appreciate the picture. I'll have to do before and after pictures also.

There is a tool made for clamping and then you give a yank to get the hair out of the ear canal, but I haven't bought that one yet. The Vet. takes a wet Q-tip and wounds the hair around that and pulls it out. This doesn't need to be done unless your dog has a lot of hair in the ear.

I have the hemostat for plucking the ear hair. There is also a powder to use to make it easier to grab them and it also dries out the inside of the ear. You're only supposed to pluck a very few at a time so it isn't so painful for the dog.

i don't know which video clip to click on. i know it is probably as plain as the nose on my face, but i don't know which one you used to show you how to keep your furbaby still. i love her hair cut, i am nervous about my baby's first haircut and she isn't even here yet LOL. thanks gloria

I'm sorry gloria, i think this season's video clips may be different... but basically, if you watch a few of them, you'll see ceasar do a "human bite" using his fingers... it's a quick jab to the body it's not hard, but it's a firm jab. I'll try to find one later when i'm not at work lol and let you know...

When I cut Cody and Gracie I usually do it on my kitchen counter. I put a harness on them. I lossen the harness as far as it will go, put one loop around the neck another around the back legs, take a leash hook it to the harness and wrap the leash around the cabinet handles tight but not tight on the neck. They are really pretty good to stay still but I'm more afraid that they will try to jump down.

I think it looks great. I also do my own grooming because paying for it is just to exspansive......yorkies tend to be that way
