Self job, Puppy Cut - Before and After 2 Attachment(s) So I've cut my little baby's hair for the first time, and I think i did a pretty good job. I have to thank Cesar Millan for this because i used his technique to keep her still and it worked. First i did the back of her and she wouldn't stay still, then i used the technique and she totally sat still that i was able to cut her face hair!!! so here are before and after pics... did I butcher her or what?? LOL I don't care, she's so cute and so much smaller looking I love it!!! :p |
i think you did a great:thumbup: job i always groom my baby too it's like a spa day for him i start off by cleaning his ears, then cutting his nails, then brushing his teeth then triming him down thank goodness my baby always stays still i put him on top of the toilet seat and and i sit on the floor in front of him and start chopping away lol but you did a great job! |
The only thing I see different are the ears. The hair should be shaved to only 1/3 inch down. When they have the hair on the ears feather out the rest of the way, it doesn't make the ears look so large. You did an amazing job for your first try. You should have seen what my Westie looked like when I gave a first doggie cut.:sidesplt: Here is how I cut the ears, but you may like it your way best anyway, and of course it IS to each his own. No, I don't think you over stepped... it is your opinion, and you were absolutely NOT rude about it... however, the ears were actually shaved before i cut her because one ear wasn't standing up, so we shaved it and taped it, so I ended up shaving the other one so that it was all even... i probably should buy a book on how to cut yorkie hair... lol one question i have about the ears are plucking the ear hair... do you have to pluck them all?? or can we just trim them? PS - your pic is GREAT... love the long chest hair!! |

I have to ask....what is Cesar Milan's technique for keeping dogs still? I have a lot of trouble cleaning Tia's eye boogers and crusts, and also putting a little barrett in her hair. I try to do it when sh'e tired, praise her and give her treats, but any other help would be great too! |

There will be a whole slew of short clips that show you different techniques to use... i use the human dog bite since i'm a little scared of the choker thing with a yorkies cuz their prone to collapse treacheas. I do use a regular collar and hold her with the collar to keep her in place, then do the human bite (sort of like a little jab) but check it out first... it totally worked for me... |
Check this little item out for us that groom at home. I'm going to order it. It will make things so much easier. www.petedge.com/tables and the number is TP98018 There is a tool made for clamping and then you give a yank to get the hair out of the ear canal, but I haven't bought that one yet. The Vet. takes a wet Q-tip and wounds the hair around that and pulls it out. This doesn't need to be done unless your dog has a lot of hair in the ear. |
that's a pretty good table... plus it's not expensive!! Thing is, it asked only for a US zipcode, and i'm in Canada.. :( So how do i tell if she has TOO much hair in her ears?? |
