| I agree with everyone else. That is one beautiful dog! I hope Adie grows up to be half as good looking. Question: How is it that human products can be used on yorkies. I always thought that the ph of their skin is different from ours. I, too, am going to buy some Redkin!!!! |

As for the human products, I too have always heard that, but I went to observe a dog show in Houston, and was visiting with someone that was showing her yorkie who had a beautiful coat and when I asked her what she used, she told me Salon Selectives from Wal-Mart. Boy was I shocked! My personal feeling is that human shampoo can be a little to drying to their skin, so I do use dog shampoo, but as far as the conditioner, it really only coats the hair so to me I don't think it could be to bad. So far I have not had any problems with human conditioners and styling products. But I did use human shampoo once and Mia got a bit of dandruf as a result of it.

As for Mia's liver shunt, it really has not affected her much at this point. Just not sure what the long term affect is going to hold. Had we not got her properly dignosed early on so that we could treat the situation, I'm sure things would be much worse at this point. I decided to have her tested after reading all of the information from other great YTalkers on this board that had posted such good info on liver shunts. Her symptoms were that she would throw up quite often, usually after she ate, and she seemed to sleep more than a normal puppy, and she was very thin and not gaining weight like she should. That was really the only symptoms she had, but I took her to the vet and insisted on a bile acid test, and sure enough, things were not right. My vet then sent me on to Texas A & M were she was dignosed. There is a great wesite http://livershunt.com with alot of very helpful info on this.

| I live about an hour east of Beaumont - We may have to bring our girls to meet in Beaumont sometime. Little Bit hasn't had all of her shots yet so I'd have to wait a while. She seems to be doing well except for a bout with coccidiosis but she was the smallest of her litter so I was a little concerned. She is small but very feisty. Glad to hear your beautiful Mia is doing well. Donna |

| I've been using Redken anti-snap on Brutus since he was a puppy. It makes their coat so soft and shiny. Plus it smells GREAT! Mia is beautiful!

| OK ! You girls need to be working for somebody getting a commission. I only found Yorkie Talk a few days ago and on your recommendations, I have bought 40# of Canidae for a 2# dog (I'll share with my daughters' Yorkie), 5 types of Chris Christensen grooming products, a Lookout II car seat, two harnesses and leash, and now the Anti snap. I'm sure next will be the Gold Series brush (any recommendations on that). LOL Anyway, thanks for the heads up, I know Little Bit thanks you all. Oh yes & I also want an X pen. Where is the best place to get that?? Donna |
