| ![]() I have never had a problem with my dog. I live in San Francisco and have taken him to two groomers that I think are great. Not always the best cuts, especially when I first was taking him. I think puppies love to be squirmy!! But, never butchered or injured. Yikes! i must say the best think would probably be to starting training your dog at home before taking him to another groomer. It's like taking them to the vet without them freaking out. I took my dog to the vet for meet and greets several times before we went for a check up or shots. It made the real visits much easier. I did the same with the groomer. if you live in the East Bay I don't know who to recommend, but you could do some investigating and interview some groomers if you decide not to groom your dog yourself. Since they are our babies we can't just leave them with anyone and abviously some groomers don't have a clue what they are doing. Definately have a clear idea of what you want and talk to the groomer to see if they can achieve what you want. Also, maybe ask the groomer to call you when they are cutting another yorkie so you can see the before and after. I know this sounds like a lot of work on your part, but it would be worth it in the end. Also, if you take your do to the park and see other yorkies, ask the owners where they go. Wow, my first posting and I am probably boring everyone. -Cheers |

| ![]() I know how you feel! Ewok went for his second groomin in his life. THey shaved him and cut his face hair in a wedge and igts terrible! PetSmart did it and I told them leave as much hair as possible. See they told me he would have to be shaved since his hair was matted. I should have walked out then and did it myself. I told them to leave as mich as possible and they shaved him. I hate it! He doesnt look like a Yorkie they told me it would only take a month to grow back. I will never let them do his hair again. His hair was only matted underneath and the top there was no mat whatsoever. My husband said they just didnt want to take the time and just shaved him. He doesnt even have his spirit anymore. plus the cat that never liked dogs but him and Ewok got to playing all the time it was cute. The cat now attacks and chases to attack him everytime he is around so know he cowers and that is gone now. I am just sick Ewok is only 9 months old will he keep his color? I should have known when I saw how they were treating him when they were getting started. I will never reccommend PetSmart to anyone. Last edited by Ewok's momma; 04-23-2006 at 05:30 AM. |
