I have never had a problem with my dog. I live in San Francisco and have taken him to two groomers that I think are great. Not always the best cuts, especially when I first was taking him. I think puppies love to be squirmy!! But, never butchered or injured. Yikes! i must say the best think would probably be to starting training your dog at home before taking him to another groomer. It's like taking them to the vet without them freaking out. I took my dog to the vet for meet and greets several times before we went for a check up or shots. It made the real visits much easier. I did the same with the groomer. if you live in the East Bay I don't know who to recommend, but you could do some investigating and interview some groomers if you decide not to groom your dog yourself. Since they are our babies we can't just leave them with anyone and abviously some groomers don't have a clue what they are doing. Definately have a clear idea of what you want and talk to the groomer to see if they can achieve what you want. Also, maybe ask the groomer to call you when they are cutting another yorkie so you can see the before and after. I know this sounds like a lot of work on your part, but it would be worth it in the end. Also, if you take your do to the park and see other yorkies, ask the owners where they go. Wow, my first posting and I am probably boring everyone.
