| Such Drama before I do the summer cut!!!! OMG!!! I'm having such a hard time of this. I know I have to give him a summer cut but I love his coat soooo much. I want him to enjoy himself outside and at our new lakehouse. His coat is just so much to take care of when he's romping in the leaves, grass and surely the water. It just kills me to do it but I did cut him last May and it grew back by November. So I thought I'd post a few pics of his coat. I guess It would be even better if I really took care of it like wrapping it and oils!!!! BTW I think I'm going to leave the braid even though I'm cutting him down. It's kind of distinctive. Guess I'll have to see what that looks like. This job will probably take about a week of tweaking so I'll post again next week. Wish us luck!!!!

| Deuce always looks beautiful. I love the way you have cut his face and his braid.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Im so glad Im not in your shoes. His coat is beautiful but just like you said he will not be able to enjoy the summer...maybe he will, but you would have to be grooming non stop. If his hair grows as fast as you say, just cut it and by the time winter comes he will have a full coat again.

| I couldn't! But, Deuce does look beautiful in both short and longer hair styles. You do such nice work grooming him. Good luck! Looking forward to the after photos.

| I did the Summer cut!!!!!! I just went ahead and did it. I think he likes it too. This is the initial clip but I'll be touching it up for the next week with the blending shears. I scissor clipped his body then used a #2 on the clipper. Just scissor clipped his legs. For now I left his braid. We'll see what I do with that. Here's a few pics after the job. He was tired when we were done. He's feeling good about the short cut . . . acting a bit frisky in the yard to show off.

| Your cut turned out great! I'm a bit envious. I, too, was toying with the idea of cutting ZoE's hair. She loves running around the yard and playing in her pool in the summer, and unfortunately she doesn't have the beautiful lush coat that Deuce has, so when long it just looks stringy. So I cut her hair last week! But I kinda did a hatchet job on it and have been "touching it up" almost daily since then.

| Thanks for the support. The braid is going to be modified. It's not in proportion. Let's see how this goes. Stay tuned.

| I think he looks lovely. I'm considering cutting Gunner down and I was looking thru everyone's photos trying to get ideas. Yours is the best! Gunner has the most cottony coat I've ever seen, when we are camping it gets to be a matted mess.

| He's gorgeous, short cut or long cut! I keep mine short, no way is Buster going to give me that much time on the other end of a brush. Yours is very cute with a short cut, I wish I could cut mine myself. Good job.

| His Head is Done!!! I cut the braid. It looks good and is easier to gather up to the topknot. Of course I'll let it grow again but for now it works. Blended the edges with the blending shears. They are magic!!!!

| A cottony coat is a good thing. The legs always look fluffy. Get some blending shears and you can touch up with them.

| I love what you did with him, will you come and groom Gunner for me? I think I am going to take his body down with a 4 or a 5F, then I will scissor his legs. He is a mess from being at the camper, lots of leaves, twigs, and sand in him. Gonna take me hours tomorrow to get him brushed out.
