| Top knot Hi, My new 6 month old Yorkie has finally got her hair long enough for a top knot. But ... She doesn't allow me to put one on her head. She moves around so much even with my husband trying to hold her head it never quite works. Is there a technique or a trick or is it something she will eventually get use to? Somehow I doubt she will ...she strong willed like her mom . I appreciate any guidance |

| It's tough with a strong willed Yorkie, but I wouldn't give up. I'd probably give her a high reward treat after you are done so that she associates this with something pleasant. Katie is really used to being groomed, but she also has a topknot pillow that helps to keep her more comfortable and makes it easier for me to see if I'm putting it in right. Katie isn't resting on her pillow, but the attached photo shows what the pillow looks like. Good luck with your little girl.

| I usually have given her a piece of cheese (she loves cheese) after her grooming, she s more tolerant but the top knot isn't something she even wants to tolerate. Love that pillow may I as where you got that? A pet store? I'm going to be in the states next week and if that's the case will have a look. Thinking about bringing back a grooming table (small one). Dern weight and size restrictions for luggage makes things difficult Thanks |

| My friend bought Katie the pillow from Tina, a Yorkie show breeder who is a member here. She also got Katie the satin bed in the photo, and she absolutely loves it. VanGogh Yorkshires http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=3227

| My Rosie uses the top knot pillow too. I highly recommend getting one. Here is a picture with her hair up. I can post one of our pillow too if you would like. I got mine from the same YT member as listed above. Also, I don't give up either. When we are having casual days, I use scrunchies. That way she is always use to having her hair up. ab98ba882337269c34dbfaf9908f93ba.jpg

| Gosh she is so cute! I'm going to have to look for some small scrunchies when I'm in the states. I'm definately going to have to get me one of those pillows! |

| Thank you. And yes, that would be two wise investments for you! . BowBiz sells scrunches. Not sure about shipping but you could ask.

| I have always treated on grooming but in the morning when she is sleepy is the best time to try the top knot. That is usually when I'm quite far away from the kitchen where her favourite treat is ...cheese! I do try to get it as soon as possible but it does take awhile and I'm not sure she understands that the treat is for her keeping still or that's all forgotten by the time I get to the fridge |

| The pillow will really help you too. It helps to hold their head still while you are putting it in. I think it was $10 or $15. Well worth it. I'll try to find the link and post it for you.
