| Best kind of hair tie for the top knots? What kind of ties do you use on your yorkies for their topknots? I usually get the little pill-box full of colorful baby elastics from walmart in the kid's hair section. I use them on myself when I braid my hair because they blend better, and they hold her hair really well, but my issue is matting. She gets combed daily and her topknot redone, but it's usually starting to get stuck in the little tie by then. Last week I missed getting to comb her for a day, so her topknot went two days...horrible, horrible! I had to put morrocan oil in her hair and comb and pull that darn knot out. I thought I was going to have to cut it! It's always in the hair below the elastic, too. The little fabric ties don't hold her hair for more than 10 minutes, and the puppy bows/ties are actually worse than the ones I have. She is a cotton coat so she mats like crazy. Is there something anyone has found that wont tangle the heck out of their hair? I feel bad when I redo it because I usually have to cut the tie out to avoid pulling her hair. Surely that isn't how it's supposed to be...an almost painful daily ritual? For her sake.

| We use bands from YT members websites: toplinepet.com and BowBiz. They are much easier on the hair than most of what you find in stores. For daily wear, I put soft tiny scrunchies in my boys' topknots. You can find them at Walmart, Target, and at Bowbiz.

| Any one seen small scrunchies that aren't thick? Tessa doesn't have a thick topknot and the regular scrunchies I've seen at the local stores fall off her. |

| Are you using the really small ones? I loop the tinies 3 times on my boys' topknots. Admittedly, when their hair is really clean right after a bath, the topknot doesn't hold as well.

| I haven't found ones that are small. The ones I've seen are bulky looking. I will keep searching. |

| I just bought Delilah some at Wal-mart. Check the baby section. Faded Glory had a ton of different hair accesories in the baby section.

| I want to get some of the scrunchies, but haven't had any luck when searching at Wal-Mart. My two wear regular bands everyday, and I think it would be nice for them to wear the softer scrunchies... I would think they wouldn't pull on the hair as much, and I could reuse them. I use the top knot scissors to cut the bands when I take them out so they don't pull and rip hair.

| Latex Free Dog Grooming Bands, 500 - CLEAR, 1/4" | eBay These are really nice grooming bands. They come in different sizes. These are small for dogs with fine hair. Once you get your grooming bands in then you can always put your bow on over it or clip a bow on over it. |

| So glad I came in here! I was thinking the same thing and even posted in the general discussion area. My baby is just now getting enough hair to do something with, but her hair is soooo fine. What do you all do if your baby has really fine hair? |

| Ok, so yesterday I got to thinking...... I ventured out to my local beauty supply store - not like Sally's but just a local neighborhood beauty supply store, and OMG!!!! There were the grooming bands in "yorkie" colors, clear, and bright rainbow colors!!! I also bought an aluminum comb and some small barretts & clips all for $7.00!!!! I was soooo excited! I had been looking for those bands for a while, and lucked up. So, maybe try your local BSS for ideas. |

YT 1000 Club Member | At my local PetSmart I found tons of lobster clips with beautiful bows that I use on Romeo. These are much easier to go on/off and I never have to worry about Romeo's hair pulling. I have even seen similar clips in the children's department of Target and they are rather inexpensive.
