Yes, I have had a long soft coated yorkie. When it was just her it was fine....but, once I began showing, it became difficult to keep her up and cultivate a coat on a show dog..... Let me put it this way, while I love a dog in long coat, especially the correct silk and color, the minute I get that Championship Certificate in my hands off comes the coat. Well sometimes I wait until I breed the females. Then of course it's dangerous to the pups to keep them in coat. I will say that my dogs prefer to be in a shorter cut.

Im not going to have him with coat to floor length just a bit fluffy, he's very big so if I were going to make him get floor length coat he would be about 2-3 years getting it so long. On this picture of him he had a coat in length that I like, a bit fluffy I can part it in the middle of the back, he didnt matt much (only on the belly area and on the paws, I just shave the belly and keep the paws short then its no proplome). http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3213896_n.jpg lol, i was making him stand like a schafer and another, bad pic though: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-a...06_5450484.jpg These pictures are 1 and a half year old, he didnt matt much there, well I had to brush him daily to keep him matt free and bathe him every 5-7 days, if I didnt brush him in 2-3 days then he would become matted. Also, i never use clothes on him except if they are very wide and have silk inside When he gets matted, its only on stumach (i cut it very very short now so he doesnt matt much there), under the armpits ( I also cut the coat there if it gets tangled) and sometimes on the paws, he matts there when he goes for a walk and sand and grass gets stucked there With bad matts (they almost never come, just if I put him in tight clothes or non-silk clothes) I cut them out. Im gonna give it a try getting him in long coat, if it gets hard and he hates it then I'll cut him But usually he doesnt mind grooming, he loves his brush, but he gets mad if I have to brush a tangle out, if I keep him matt-free i dont think it will be a proplame ! I just have to beware when I put him in any clothes, I almost never put him in clothes when he has coat, only when he's short cut (I dont like his coat short), I have a good jacket (pink, lol ) who I close on the back, very good jacket from PuppyAngel, my grandmother is going to fix him for me so I can use it, also I'm getting two vest's who are with silk, and dont tuch the armpits or the legs, so he wont matt of it , very cool !

He actually looks thinner with coat, weird! I think having Fido with some coat will be good for him too, not just for me cause always when he goes to the groomers and is shaved there he looks like a moroon, he hides under the sofa, doesnt wanna go out, he gets much colder then and he does not like his clothes much. He doesnt get as cold if he has some coat, well he gets tangled sometimes, Im longer brushing him (maybe 10-15 min. a day if he's not tangled, i just comb his face and tail if he's shaved , that takes a minute or something) but what the hell im ready to do that if thats what it takes to keep him with beautiful long coat Im not longer blowdrying him, he's so quick drying, maybe 10 minutes also ,very very quick! Well when I bathe him im like 2 hours if he's with longer coat, but if he's shaved im 30-50 minutes tops, but I like bathing him so it doesnt matter, I have enough time to groom him as much as he needs Fido matts also very much if he just has few inches of coat, but when its about half the way to the ground it matts very little.

Ohhhhhh right now I want to shave him again in this cut, maybe have his feet furry and then the rest like this. OR having him with an afhan haircut, would that be cool? I miss little naked Fido !

If I cut Fido in length that I can run my fingers through, then he gets tangled He's really really big, he's 6 kilo's, dont know how much it is in pounds/lbs, he's twice the size of a ''normal yorkie'' , its just cute ,more to hug Now his coat is about 4-5 cm., its started to tangle already, it needs so short length to tangle. I like having him very short He likes it too Do you think he is way to short ? well he gets cold easily so short, but he also gets cold with coat, just a bit more cold so short not much, I just put him in a sweater when he goes out and he's ok another pic of him short, with his modified schnauzer look, there I put hairspray in the mohawk so it will stand up so cute!! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._5582340_n.jpg and one another: http://l1.sphotos.l3.fbcdn.net/hphot...7_118664_n.jpg What haircut on the face do you think are pretty ??? I want to cut his topknot of , is the mohawk-schnauzer look cool, or is there some else haircut you all like ? please share! How do you all have your yorkies faces groomed?

| Kyle Hi What I call a wooly coat you would call a cotton or soft coat, dark in colour and then turns grey not steel blue. He did well in the show ring and is now a champion. I cut his coat right off and decided to grow it again. I believe that if you can get a shampoo and conditioner with primrose oil. it can help condition the coat. |
