| With my yorkie I chose that I was going to do the grooming myself. Of course I did a massive amount of research on what needs to be done and spent a small fortune on supplies (nice, quality grooming stuff can be expensive). I bought some good clippers (not the cheapy human clippers...I'm talking $200) as well as other stuff. I know over the long run I will save money by doing it myself BUT I most enjoy the bonding between me and my dog. It is great to see him trust me with all of it and it can certainly be a lot. My roommate has a yorkie that she gets groomed and I know she complains a lot about the cost. |

| magic goes to groomer once a month. gets bath, ears clipped, toenails done and sanitary shave when needed and of course they blow him dry but i keep him full coated and they are not to cut his hair. i take him and wait which is 45 mins to an hour. been going to my groomer for 29 years and they do a great job. price is $24.oo but goes up $1.00 every other year which is reasonable since things just cost more no matter what it is. most of the time i give him a bath in between groomings. |

| I don't even remember anymore what I used to pay. I think maybe around $30. But Tatum's hair kinda stopped growing shortly after the time of her avatar picture. I had the groomer put long layers in it at that time and loved it. Now, since she doesn't have to go to the groomer, I trim between the pads on her paws and sanitary area with a little Wahl trimmer - also her ears. The only thing she won't let me do anymore is her nails so just to avoid the stress (for me and her!) I let the vet do it and that costs $9 I think.

| I pay $25.00 plus tip for a puppy cut with all the works for my 7lb Yorkie. My groomer charges $35.00 for larger dogs. She does a great job and listens to what I want. I have gone to goomers who just do what they want. While recently attending puppy training class, another Yorkie was taken to a groomer, by his owner, that did a terrible job and they ended up having to go to another groomer and have every bit of hair from the tip of his nose to the end of her tail shaved off and they are starting over.

| We pay $65 plus a $10 tip for a mobile groomer. Lacey is growing a full coat. So she just trims the ears and private areas trimmed. She gets groomed every 3 weeks. |

| What do you pay for grooming I have a mobil groomer. I pay her $65 a month plus 20% tip. I know it's a lot, but it's worth it to me to have that one on one grooming for Tucker. He could probably go for 6 wks, but the groomer is in Knoxville, Tn where I have my condo, and I go there once a month. |

| I pay about the same as you. I paid $95 for both of them to get puppy cuts. They still dont do it how I want. I have tried to do them and they just look sad when I do it. LOL

| I pay $0. I took Jamie to the groomer the first week I had him to get the hair around his paws trimmed. He hated it there and I realized it was going to cost me an arm and a leg, so I just decided to do it myself. So we (my roommate and I) bathe Jamie and Beau (her yorkie) once a week. Then about once every 4-6 weeks I trim their hair and around their paws and do toenails. They are in longer puppy cuts and I would be terrified to take them to anyone else. I figured out the look I like and now I have mastered how to keep their coat exactly the length and shape I want.

| i just spent $90 on just one dog! for a nail trim, bath, anal gland expression, haircut, ear cleaning it was $60, since he was matted, it was an additional $20 for 45 minutes dematting, plus $10 tip. Ugh...I swear I spend more on my dogs than on myself. I really want to start grooming them myself. I will need to read up on that asap!

| Grooming Schools If you live in a city with a grooming school, you can get some very good prices there. The students need the practice and they're very caring. |
