Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Every time I see pictures of beautiful babies with beautiful cuts, I feel so bad for Max, after 2 1/2 years of long coat,we went yesterday for a shorter style for the summer,...it looks like he had a lawn mower over him Can anyone recommend a good grooming place in Miami, or Ft.Lauderdale?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Not only I had to pay for somethign I was not happy about, but when I got to pick him up 15 min. earlier, the lady was mistreating the poor animals, when Max got home would not want to leave my side, only wanted to be on my lap.

| That's what happened with Layla last time too! She just didn't want to play or anything. I had a gut feeling that we should just walk out when we first got there, and so did my boyfriend who isn't even a big fan of Layla in the first place! But I didn't want to be rude after making an appointment so we left her there and I was horrified when I picked her up This is a new groomer this time and I hope they do a good job!

| I feel sick already for leaving her there. When I booked the appointment they asked if I wanted her shaved and I said no I don't want it shaved. I want it shorter, but not shaved. So I found that cute scissor cut and I took it in with me this morning. I showed it to the woman and she said "Oh so you want a scissor cut then?" and I said "yes" and she said "Well I don't do scissor cuts." and she turned around and asked the other woman if she had time today and she said no. So she told me I can either re-book or do what she had me booked in for which was just "bath and trim around face and feet" I told her to just go ahead and do what was booked because Layla's nails are wayyy too long and she won't let me touch them. Then I noticed the stack of travel crates along the wall... big ones on the bottom and small ones on the top. There was a little poodle type dog pacing around in one of the small crates about 5 feet off the ground. They told me they'd call me when they're done and I asked what time that would be (on the phone I was told about 3 hours... so I was going to pick her up on my lunch break) and she told me "Oh maybe about 2 o'clock"... 5 HOURS to trim my baby's face and feet? I could do it at home in an hour. As I left they were pulling her across the floor with her leash and she was bracing herself and oh my gosh I almost cried on my way back to work and I can't think of anything else right now.... I hope I'm making it worse in my head than it really is.

| BrowniesMOM........I think you hit the nail on the head w brownie's haircut....he looks sooooo adorable............after yrs of puppy cuts w my millee I finally started asking the groomers to leave the hair longer on the legs....it balances them out better ....and I know they say it will grow back but usually when it does it's time for a haircut again....it's great when you can pick them up from the groomers and love the cut instantly...brownie looks amazing!

| Oops I forgot about this thread! I guess I should post an update! I went to pick Layla up about a half an hour after they called, and I waited and waited and waited, and finally the woman brought her out but she had little wet legs and feet. She told me that when I walked in she was excited to hear my voice and she peed in her crate, so they washed her legs and leash for me so I wouldn't go home with a dirty dog. She seemed to be happier than she was at the last groomer. She really didn't look different at all, except they had made her face rounder, and cut her feet down and her legs looked a little smaller, so basically she's a big fluff ball with tiny little feet sticking out! They told me I could book a scissor cut right there for 3 weeks ahead, but I said I'd have to think about it. When I got her home I realized her nails were still pretty long, she was still clickety-clicking all over the laminate floors. I've found another place and made an appointment there for June 2nd. A friend of mine said it's a great place and his mom's poodle goes there all the time. They seem very friendly, and they call their place a "pet spa" where they can relax and be dogs while getting cuts and "paw-dicures"! I've decided on a modified schnauzer cut, just like Lou's Adie because I fell in love with her avatar picture!

| Phoenix has a haircut just like Brownies 2nd pic. I keep the hair on his legs, feet and some on his chest. I actually got this idea from Buddy(Archie) on this board with his cute cut, so i purchased some clippers and do it myself lol |
