| Time for a haircut! I know there are a million of these threads but I did a search and thought I'd make another! I have an appointment for Layla to get groomed on Friday, and I'm really unsure of what I want. She got a terrible cut last summer and it's been just growing out since then. I thought I might want her hair longer, but I took her for a walk last night and then had to bathe her when I got home... it looked like I gave a tree a bath! The water was full of twigs and leaves. I'm now thinking I might want something a little shorter (but not shaved) so that she's not getting stuck with yuckies everytime we go outside. Her coat is a little on the thin side too. Last year they shaved her legs down and it looked like she had chicken legs, so I want to stay away from that look too! Does anyone have pictures of their babies in cute summer cuts?

| I am glad you posted this because I am trying to convince my husband that Babsy needs a summer cut but he thinks she is pretty with her long hair so I would like to get some cute pics to help convince him

| Ranger went from this to this yesterday! I love it, he looks really scrawny but I think he feels much better and likes shorter hair. It's so soft! I say go for it! It grows back really fast.

| modified cut Ask your groomer for a modified trim. This means that you keep the hair parted down the back, and in a regular yorkie look. The groomer should then trim the hair off of the sides to about 3" off of the floor, and trim up the legs and chest area to blend in to the length on the sides. You can trim the beard, or leave it longer, as either way looks good with this trim, and then you can have a topknot on the head, or a rounded teddy bear head. I htink this will work better for you, less a risky cut that you will be unhappy with. Quote:

| Thank you! That is what "I" was looking for! They told me to not shave back that the hair keeps cool/warm and could grow in curly or thicker and would not "flow" as nicely! Thank you again

| I had Xena's hair cut shorter a couple months ago, it's great. She really likes it and it suits her personality. She's all soft and it's much less maintenance.

| That's kind of how Layla's was cut last year! Except hers was really uneven and badly done... they even shaved down part of ONE SIDE of her muzzle and cut off her whiskers and everything I liked how little hassle it was though!

| Brownie is so cute! I like the longer hair on his legs. Layla has a little pot-belly and has long skinny legs so she looks silly when her legs are shaved right down!
